Why didn't any of the major programs steal Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss?

Are they just tired of his antics? Don't want to have to babysit a man-child?

He is a job hopper. Always looking for the next best thing. I believe most major programs see that. You hire him and he will be gone at next opportunity. Just like what he did while at Tennessee.

Because he isn't going anywhere until the Bama job opens up. Lane has a point to prove...

Kiffin's not waiting 10 years for Saban to retire.

Would you want him? He honestly just doesn’t seem the fit, IMO. He seems to have an underdog character to him.

He still has some maturing to do IMO... I'm not sure if he will ever get there, lol.

Miami hasn't fired Manny Diaz yet. And every time a position gets filled, another opens.

This thread is full of haters. I’d rather have Lane than any SEC coach not named Saban.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good coach! But, look at his track record as a head coach? You get maybe a year or two, and he’s out, to something “bigger and better”..

Lane has it made.

He is living the dream in hot coed heaven. He's got to be banging the daylights out of chicks half his age regularly.

God love him.

Most schools with openings just fired someone, meaning they need a rebuilding. There is a high risk at a Miami (for example) because it may take a few years. No one cares about a weak school (or its coach) in a weak conference when you arent winning. If it takes longer than expected (by no fault of his own) things can get ugly fast and he loses his worth again.

By contrast, he is 10-2 and at a ny 6 bowl in year 2. He can make bank, reload with the portal, and live in the popularity of the sec. He will wait for bama or the perfect fit.

Fired at Oakland. Would have been fired at Tennessee if he didn't leave. Fired at USC. No one wants him with his resume. He is looking at an OC job in the NFL.

His goal is probably getting back to the NFL. He wouldn't survive the pressure cooker in Tuscaloosa. He is perfect for Ole Miss.

Really don't see Saban staying until he's 80.

I think Kiffin has been way to erratic for a major program to take a chance on him again. I think its obvious most schools felt that way this cycle.

If he stays at Ole Miss another year or two and maintains close to the same level of success. He gone.

I like Lane. I think pre and post-Saban Lane are two separate guys. I also think the Bama fanbase and boosters would be way too wound up for him.
