re: Why did the AP move Bama to #1?

Because of their stellar performance against an elite program, including a remarkable comeback against adversity on both offense and defense. Meanwhile Texas struggled for three quarters to put away Mississippi State, a team depleted by a series of misfortunes. The Bulldogs fought hard, and the freshman quarterback held up pretty well against the Longhorns. We will see how well you do against Georgia, and then we can talk.

The defending national champs who squeaked by a 2-3 Minnesota team? This is like Bama trying to brag about blowing Wisconsin out.

The teams are #5 and #10, spare me who lost who. And there are 4 quarters, Bama's 1st half dominance was counterfeited entirely by a 2nd half collapse
Too bad the final score counts more than who played better in a half.
Imagine being so micro dick you try to downplay a victory over a team that hasn't given up a TD since the SECCG last year and hasn't lost a regular season game since 2020.

FWIW: I think Georgia beats Texas due to the scheme/personnel matchup, but I know Texas beats Bama by double digits H2H, just like last season
FWIW: Deboer would beat you for the third consecutive year so STFU and go ride a bull or whatever the frick you ****s do in that barren wasteland of a trailer park infested state.

Dude, this isn’t the same Michigan team that you lost a game against the current Bama coach that knocked you out of having to play them last year.
This year’s game you played them in means nothing to anyone. Different players and coaches all around. Nothing to beat your chest about.
I hope that first sentence didn’t give anyone a headache……haha

No, it is not. Because Alabama was working with a patchwork offensive line in that game. South Florida took advantage by blitzing on every other play. We finally had a healthy OL for the first time against Wisconsin and you saw what we did to them in Madison.

You mean the 42-16 game where both of our starting tackles were out and one of the backups was singlehandedly responsible for three penalties that negated touchdowns?
If we're going by halves and quarters, Alabama, who struggled with USF, had a lead over Texas entering the 4th quarter last year so *insert every argument the Textards are using to denigrate Bama here*

Let's just gloss over playing a freshman at qb(name/talent be damned) in his 2nd collegiate start and not even trying to open up the playbook. The coaches watched film, they knew it wasn't going to be a game if Texas "tried". So it was turned into a glorified scrimmage. State going for it on their 30 the 1st drive made that obvious and Sark responded appropriately. All in all, it was a net positive for each team. Both worked on and got better at something that will help in the future

They dominated Georgia in the first half and even though it didn’t matter in the end, going up 28-0 against a #2 media darling sticks in people’s minds.
On the other hand, we still don’t know how good Texas is because they haven’t played anyone.
You could argue Bama is a little suspect because UGA is HIIIIIIGHLY overrated and also playing with a special needs QB. Will know more when they play Ole Miss or Tenner.
However, Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning >>>> Milroe >> Beck so you have that going for you.
Michigan is LSU 2020. Lost everybody and though we didn’t lose our coach we might as well have between Burrow and Brady. CEO checked out after winning the natty.

Also, Texas has a weak arse schedule this year. If they had Georgia or Floridas schedule they would lose three or more games. Texas is not ready for a schedule like that and they were eased into the SEC. The SEC is a lot different than what they have been used to in the past. Texas struggled with Mississippi State. What happens when they get Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and Ole
miss four weeks in a row. They have never prepared for that.

I don't understand anyone who REALLY cares about the top of the rankings from here on out. Put Texas at #26 it really doesn't matter. IF they win out they'll be in the playoff. If they drop 1 game they VERY likely will be in the playoff. If they lose 2, they'll need some help but will probably be in the playoff and if they miss out so what? they'd have lost 2 games and don't deserve to be national champions. Ultimately play well enough to be in the top 10 and things will work out, but who's 1 and who's 4 don't really matter.

Speculation(in terms of their ability). Let's stick to the facts
So Michigan isn't credible due to losing their HC, yet Bama is despite losing the goat? Who lost by double digits with what is mostly the same team to a very similar Texas team in Tuscaloosa? Does the Rant actually believe DeBoer is an upgrade over Saban?

Not sure how old you are but I’m assuming pretty young. Back in the day, the AP and UPI polls were the only measuring stick. These polls were held in the highest esteem.
Today, they are meaningless. Today the concern for you should be the following.
Win all your games.
Become SEC champ
Win semifinals
Win Natty
Now you are No 1.

You think beating this Michigan team is the same as beating Georgia? You actually have a weak resume now that we see who Michigan is.
Besides, the REC runs things an decided it was time for Bama to take its rightful place and time for Texas to sit down and shut up. Plus, nobody likes Texas.
