Not even the same. Pre-poll era is one thing. Claiming titles during the poll era that aren’t AP/Coaches is ridiculous. And that includes Alabamas BS 1941 claim

I mean, 2 years ago they kept Texas ahead of Bama every poll. Even after Texas lost midway through the season. I don’t understand keeping Georgia ahead of Bama at all

I want to say the AFCA initially went back and presented one to each team that had won the coaches poll. And then later let teams submit a request for one if they won a title pre-1950. I think it had to be reviewed and approved by the AFCA though.

Back when we used to have a nightly off topic thread. Board wasn’t overrun by people from everywhere. Was a good group of people that posted regularly. More than a few of the good ones either passed away or just disappeared entirely.

Imagine not being able to spell “losing.”
If it’s really necessary, I always liked the design of the 2009 ring the most. Pretty simple design but looked good.

Last year they kept Texas ahead of Bama because of the head to head. We lost to them in week 2, they lost to Oklahoma in week 6. And they still stayed ahead of Bama every week.
