JR Reed and DeAndre Baker come to mind. Both 3 stars. Baker went 1st round and won the Jim Thorpe award.
Kirby can’t develop tho.

Evan McPherson - Junior PK - Led SEC in FG percentage his Freshman and Sophomore seasons.

On the team - Ainias Smith (783rd ranked)
He broke into a crowded WR corps and then when we extremely limited at RB during the bowl game he slid over there. The crazy part is he tried to commit when he didn't have a valid offer. It worked out in the end.
Ended his freshman year with a nice well rounded year
Rec: 22-248-3
Rush: 7-54-0
KR: 19-257
PR: 16-190

Kelin Johnson as a two star strong safety.

Probably a tough question for Bama fans to answer since every time someone commits to Bama, they automatically get bumped up a star.
So what you're really saying is that Alabama has been winning all this time with mostly 3* recruits and some 4* kids?
Wow, turning 3* kids into the most first round picks of any program over the last 10 years? Damn, Saban's better than anyone thought!

Trae Elston and Mike Hilton.

D'Onta Foreman
I'll also throw in Dicker the Kicker, albeit I've never seen a kicker or punter rated 4-star or better

Frankly, the later made the former look much better than he was more times than not.

No Ingram was the 10th rated RB that year and was a 4* he was so committed to Alabama no one else tried.

Josh Allen. Two star recruit. #7 Draft Pick.
Others Randall Cobb and Benny Snell. 3* recruits.
Stoops and staff have been good at finding hidden gems that turn into pretty good players. Calvin Taylor is another one. UK has to be unconventional, because even with a top 25 class they are still 10-12th in the conference. The SEC is just that damn good.
It's got to be LBJr. ? Doesn't it?
