Most of these are Big 10 games. The big one that sticks out the most is.....

Rutgers @USC....11 pm Eastern Time (8 pm pacific). Typical for Trojans fans, but for Rutgers fans? They'll be snoozing in their beds when KO rolls around. Geeeez.

So, this is a foretaste of what's to come for all the cross-country travel all these teams are going to have to do....gonna be some very tired players in that league.

Just hope the SEC never expands to have to resort to something like this.

All six of them will be devastated.

That’s criminal to the Rutgers players.

It was absurd when Auburn started at 9:30pm against Cal last season.

You can look at that schedule for Friday night and with the exception of UCF the fact that you could plan a CFB on Friday night and some folks would show up is indicative of why CFB is not great in those areas. Friday night is for High School football....where you find High School football meaningful to the locals you will generally also find better quality CFB. UCF is the outlier but Orlanda is less southern than Dallas.....

Frankly I'll take more games on different days for CFB. Admittedly I haven't watched as much MACtion or Fun Belt games on Tues/Wed as I used to, but the Thursday night games can be interesting and if some of these games are close I'll gladly tune in on a Friday night if I'm at home that late.

Granted the USC/Rutgers start time is absolutely absurd.

This is why Sankey's approach is best. Stay contiguous. If this impacts football like this, imagine baseball, soccer, or volleyball having to travel as much. I think many of the profits made from expansion by the Big 10 and Big 12 will be eaten up by travel expenses for the olympic sports.

We say this, but a lot of those in those sports travel domestically, not by charter. So yes, it'll be a little more, but trust me, they get some deals on domestic travel.

At least all of the SEC states touch and the travel is relatively easily between campuses. Washington and Southern Cal should never be traveling to Rutgers and vice versa.

Horrible schedule. But I’d watch every minute of any of them right about now.

That is a way better Friday lineup than we're used to.

Fox clearly sucks at college sports.

Nobody's watching any of those games.

The B1G has to be praying that USC will regain its national moxy. Oregon is about all that will join the conference this season with a pulse.

It’s not going to work.

The ACC & big 10 will have some contraction.

Meanwhile sec sitting pretty on a radial conference over two time zones.

Wouldn’t hurt to get down to 12 teams again.

If I was a betting man, I’d wager there is a World Series game scheduled that night and it will lead in to the CFB game.

Sorry but who wants to play on Friday night? That’s for high school. College Saturday, and Sunday is the NFL.
