I think every coach is dealing with a team that has some aces and spaces. Yes there are some teams who have more talent than most like UGA, tOSU, etc but the depth isn’t what it was.

Still I think Golesh is dealing with a little less talented team than Sumrall. It’s too early to tell who’s the better hire. I think they both are good coaches.

Too early to determine.

Did Golesh inherit the better OL/DL, while Sumrall inherited the better skill players?
Golesh also brought in the more experienced QB.

That may be why AUB seems to be more consistent.
Need LOS in this league.

I know AU feels their OL is weak but looking at the LOS overall. I think AU has an edge. We don't even have a true NT.

Neither is a good hire because they both have ceilings.

Both Arkansas and Florida whiffed on hiring Buster as their HC.

Golesh is just another Heupel.

Florida got stomped in their 2 losses. We lost by 5 and 10 in our 2 losses. Anything can happen any given Saturday, but, I'll take our chances.

Florida also won the head-to-head with Auburn in Auburn. They had a two-score lead for most of the third and 4th quarter.

Maybe on the DL, but he brought most of this O-line from USF and they have been...not good. The "inherited" O-Line was putrid. No one since Chizik bothered recruiting the OL.

Sumrall.

Golesh caught Georgia after a physical and emotional win on the road against Alabama. This is similar to the 2012 Alabama-Texas A&M game after the physical nature of the LSU game the week before.

Still a good win for Auburn but one that'll have Auburn 7-5 instead of 6-6 at the end of the regular season.

Yeah - had a 17 point lead late into the 4th quarter. That game was close in score only because of some late TD's given up. No one felt that game was in doubt.

You probably need to play this game in about 3 years

Yep.

In his first year, Saban looked decent against a half-dozen Top 25 teams.

He also dropped four straight to end the regular season and finished 7–6, including a loss to ULM.

Playing "what-if" seven weeks into a tenure is fun, but it's sort of a fool's errand.

It took until page 2 for this to come up. Sumrall is 2-0 vs Golesh.

Golesh used to be the OC at Tennessee.

That was my point.

Neither has an STD which seems to be affecting their coaching abilities.

Golesh has the best individual win but sumrall has looked much MUCH like light years better overall. He was clearly the better hire
