too recent but John L. Smith didn’t fare so well.

He's not even the worst in Arkansas history as that honor belongs to Bret Bielema. Bielema, while not the worst in SEC history, is among that group. My vote for the worst in SEC history just might have to go to Derek Dooley.

Ed Orgeron. Had 15 NFL players, multiple pro bowlers, first round draft picks and first team all Americans on a team that went 0-8 in SEC play

Orgeron hasn't changed at all. Hahaha. Poor Tigahs

Chizik was the stupidest person ever to be HC at Auburn, if that means anything.

No, that’s not hyperbole.

Lyle ain't even the worst coach your program has had this decade.

The only answer to this question is Brad Scott.

I feel it necessary to give Sly Croom a shout out in this thread.

Not sure he was the worst but he at least desearves mention.

As someone who drove 14 hours to sit through the losing side of that 2-3 game against Auburn, a mention is not enough- Sly deserves a billboard.

Ray Goff. An average coach would have waltzed to a national title with the 1992 Georgia roster.

True and is the largest head coach in SEC history but he is not the worse.

It has to be John L Smith.

Changing the topic.......Why does Arkansas have the majority of the bad coaches?

"Ears" Whitworth, Alabama.

The only losing coach in their history since 1900. Even Mike Shula won 10 games one season, Bill Curry and Mike DuBose both won 10 and an SECC. But Ears went 0-10, 2-7-2, 2-7-2 just prior to Coach Bryant's return. It's hard to be 4-24-4 anywhere, impossible now.
