re: NBA Playoffs: Conference Finals

The Nuggets pushed OKC to 7 with one special player, one borderline all star level player, and a collection of decent role players. The Warriors would have likely done the same. The Pacers won’t be able to keep up either. It is time to hand OKC the trophy.

They would have lost. They would not have laid down and quit like this in an elimination game.

The league really needed a healthy warriors team with Steph, Draymond, and Jimmy. They would have at least played hard and competed.

The SEC was not very good the year Cal won an NC at Kentucky. Cal and Kentucky went unbeaten and won the league by six games. Three non-Kentucky SEC teams made the tournament, the highest seed amongst them being 7. It is a tough sell to say that they were “tested” that year.

He was getting one and dones at Memphis, but he was not getting near the volume of them until he had the allure of a lot of players in the league AND the Kentucky machine and brand behind him.

Indiana deserved to be in more than Ole Miss did.

Who else can we throw enough money at to get here that would be a decent hire? Matt Campbell?
Jamey Chadwell would be an absolute home run, but he is going to be in the running for bigger jobs this winter.

I didn’t realize people were actually comparing this team to the ‘92 team. This team is an impressive collection of talent with 6-7 no doubt hall of famers, but that is a crazy comparison.

As an Arkansas fan, this pisses me off. I badly wish we could hire a coach to make our program respectable again. Tits are a dealbreaker. We have the potential to be much better than what we’ve been since the motorcycle went in the ditch. We are not on the level of the top programs in the conference, but our football program should not be Kansas or Vanderbilt either.

Yeah, you don’t have a clue. Arkansas has absolutely zero problem filling up Baum Walker. In fact, demand for tickets exceeds its current size, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it expanded in the near future. Nothing about Tennessee’s baseball stadium is in the same galaxy as BW, and that’s not even discussing the other amenities and facilities that Arkansas has for baseball. Your cute wittle stadium is a dump compared to BW.

re: Is Cal the worst coach a fanbase has ever been excited about hiring?
Posted by Arkansasrazorback on 4/9/24 at 12:55 pm to MedDawg
Arkansas had three one and dones two years ago, including two players ranked in the top ten, one of which was the #1 player in the country. Coach Cal is going to land many one and dones at Arkansas. He always has, even at Memphis and UMASS, and that was before he was the biggest brand in CBB.

He will absolutely get similar talent at Arkansas for several reasons.
1. He’s Coach Cal. Those recruits are committed to him, not Kentucky. He got big time recruits at stops other than Kentucky. If Saban took the Ole Miss job, he would still get five stars based on his brand.
2. Arkansas’s NIL budget for basketball is very large.
3. Arkansas as a program is capable of elite recruiting. We signed three five stars two years ago under not Coach Cal.

Iowa should dispute the result of this game. Blatant cheating by the officials and it needs to be properly investigated.
re: What does Mario Christobal say to his team in the locker room after the game?

""When the drive started, it was going to be at 1:57 and we could burn about 1:27 off and then it was recalibrated," said Cristobal after the game. "We should have taken a timeout there at the end. We thought he could get the first down and we talked about two hands on the ball, but that isn't good enough. That's it, we fumbled the ball and they went 75 yards in two plays. There is no excuse.
What? None of that makes sense. “We thought he could get the first down.” You don’t need one. “We should’ve used a timeout.” Why?

Actually working for Texas A&M is 100X more harmful to his reputation than anything that has happened in his entire career. That stench isn’t coming off.

I just can’t believe Bobby ruined his reputation and destroyed his sense of dignity by actually working for that shithole.
