It’s the same author in both the Vanity Fair and CBS articles, John Talty.
He apparently has a book about Kiffin coming out in a few weeks, so I guess he’s trickling bits and pieces out of it daily, with what he thinks are the most salacious pieces.

The article does not say that Lane told Dabo about the tampering. It says that Lane began passing information to Dabo and encouraged him to go public with it. Former Ole Miss HC and current Clemson OL coach Matt Luke told Ole Miss (most likely his brother Tom who has been in ops for decades) what Lane was doing.
