The answer is Mizzou probably. Not really good in any sport, besides those years where every team in the West would’ve won the SEC East.

Nah. Once they figure out not only are they not the first dog to the bowl, they’re not in the top 4 they’ll bail out. 6 years tops before they quit
Quitting runs in the blood of them Texas schools.

We can only hope. If they start having success, they'll start throwing their weight around. They can't help it. Their hubris won't allow them to operate as equals with anyone else.

Sorry bud but Vandy will always be part of the SEC. Because they are a private university it shields the SEC from disclosing financial records. There’s a better chance Auburn leaves SEC before Vandy.

Can someone inform me why this is a good thing? I am a big proponent of shining light on the activities involving public institutions.

I am also a big fan of Florida's a sunshine law where all public records, even email correspondence, can be accessed.

Outside of tRant I think fans in the SEC love having Mizzou and A&M added in. It made the other conferences squirm knowing a power house like the SEC became stronger

Mizzou won't always be down in football, and basketball like they have been recently.

If we were going to take OU, okie light would have been the better partner. OU could have kept their rival game with t.u

t.u ruins everything it touches. Nothing about t.u feels SEC either

Everyone says mizzou but once Texas and Ou are added, it won’t feel as odd. The one that’ll feel unnecessary once the dust is settled will be A&M.

Texas will provide that Texas foot print that we needed and A&M will feel like dead weight.
Yeah, the sips will fit right in. Everyone will forget all those statements about how loathsome the SEC is. All will be foregiven.

Because it allows the SEC to do some business deals based off the information they want to provide not information that is public. I'm sure there other advantages like academics, regional footprint, etc.

Texas will ruin the league. After that Mizzou brings nothing to the league and Aggies are just annoying.

In the mid to late 70’s, there was always talk about bringing new schools in the SEC.
In the 80’s there was more talk about Florida State and Clemson. Neither wanted anything to do with the SEC. That is the why Arkansas and South Carolina was made a offer. The old Southwest Conference was about to go chest hairs up and so was the Big 8 Conference which South Carolina was a part. The expansion is just part of the dynamics that makes our conference the best. A closing note, there were 23 conference members in 1928.

Just wait. It won’t be long until A&M is certainly an after thought just like they were in the big12.

UNC and Duke are probably tied together and the VA legislation fought like hell to get VT into the ACC.

The reality is the SEC needed to add A&M, Mizzou and Texas to make it a respectable academic conference.

It helps offset the two junior colleges in Mississippi.
