Who did the SEC make the biggest mistake adding?

The league has previously expanded twice, adding Arkansas and South Carolina in 1991, then Missouri and Texas A&M in 2012. On July 27, 2021, the University of Oklahoma and University of Texas at Austin (Texas) of the Big 12 Conference submitted formal requests to join the SEC. On July 29, 2021, the presidents and chancellors of the current 14 SEC schools voted unanimously to offer membership to both schools, with both schools officially accepting the invitation the next day.
Biggest mistake:
UT
OU
TAMU
MIZZOU
UPIG
SC

Missouri, by far. A terrible fit in almost every way. Culturally, geographically, athletic prowess. Everything.

texas will kill this conference. They’re a malignancy.

Missouri.
SC is #1 in women’s basketball. A&M is good at track. Oklahoma is decent in football. UT is occasionally passable in basketball and baseball and has potential in football. Arkansas is good at track and baseball.

Should have stopped at 14 teams.

Easy answer:
Every fricking one of them.
Every fricking one of them.

Still melting over that #1 recruiting class, huh?

Ole Miss
Alabama
Auburn
Tennessee
Kentucky
COASTAL
North Carolina
South Carolina

Texas was the biggest mistake.
If we are going to add to the footprint of the league then a team from North Carolina would have made more sense from a media/exposure standpoint.
Plus Texas is not the school I grew up liking in the 60’s/70’s/80’s (my Dad was a UT fan because Darrell Royal was the HC at State back in the 50’s). The University had a lot of class in those days and Austin was a great city.
Sadly over the last 20-25 years the school has become arrogant, the city a cesspool and the fans are overall insufferable. They are like the Michigan of the South/Southwest.
So Texas was the HUGE mistake. Should have never added them.

I understand the argument about Missouri, but I think I have to go with Village People U.

All or none. Take your pick.
A 9 team conference schedule would be sexy with the original 10.
I'll go with none. All teams will add intrigue.

I like arky and sc. the faggies and Missouri still seem like a weird fit for me. Neither add much except it’s fun to have 8-4 to laugh at.

Worst cultural fit: Missouri
Most annoying add: A&M
Biggest boogie man: Texas
Most likely to underperform: Oklahoma
