Ok, Oxford has a 'control tower' 4 or 5 times a year. It's still a podunk airport with very very limited service.

Because it's close enough to Memphis that most people don't care.

If you've got lots of money to burn and have a private plane, knock yourself out and fly to Oxford.

Otherwise, drive to Oxford or fly to Memphis and rent a car like the rest of us would.

the BR airport is absolutely god awful

This is insane. I fly out of BTR a couple times a month. Name another metro airport you can roll up to 45 minutes before your flight leaves.

I just wish they'd get Southwest.

Can't you just fly your private jet into the Oxford airport and have your driver pick you up?

Why are you so poor?

Please explain why a town of 20,000 people should have a big airport.

Why is Jackson so bad? I've only used it twice and used Memphis around 50 times but I didn't mind Jackson. We just usually use Memphis because it is closer for my parents and for connecting flights.

Last time I used Jackson I flew from Houston to Jackson and back round trip for 150 total. When we landed in Jackson we rented a car and were on the rode within 30 minutes easy

Moving to Houston so I will be flying back a good bit and plan on taking advantage of those rates.

JAN is fine, dunno what that's all about..

Also, Davis Wade may be 15 minutes from a Regional Airport.. OP has some fricktard in him.

You aren't counting the illustrious 'Golden Triangle'?

If I was flying in and out to attend a football game, I think I would rather fly into and out of small airport like Golden Triangle than an Atlanta/Nashville type airport.

These don't even have a control tower. Fly into these podunk airports at your own risk....

It's Ok now that they have a garage. Before that, it was a difficult in and out if you had to leave your car.

Athens is close enough to the world's busiest airport that it really doesn't matter.

That and I believe there are some charter flights to Athens. There is a tower which the OP said and it's a pretty long runway (5500) at least for a college town and there are also rental car services. Right next to the town too. You can actually make your approach so that you fly over sanford stadium

Auburn puts up a temp control tower for big games. It is pretty awesome. Plus you have some of the best student pilots in the nation zoomin around.

Is this the thread where we get to subtly show that we are rich?
