My dad parents died when I was 4 and 8, both in their mid to late 80s. My GGPs on that side would have been well over 100 when I was born.

My moms parents lived across the country and only saw them a couple times a year. I knew my GGM for a few years, but only saw a couple times a year.

It’s always been a bit sad for me that I never had the opportunity to have a day to day relationship with any grandparent.
Just found out this morning that my sisters father in law was on the plane. Cant believe I just now found that out.

He is sore and shaken up from it, but otherwise fine.

I think he was just immature at the time and seems to have grown up since. People say he is a good guy.

Random Sowell story - We played them in JV baseball when he was in 9th grade. He was massive even then. During warmups, a guy on our team threw it past another (let’s call him Joe). Hernando was running to CF and back and Sowell kicked the ball about 75 feet away when Joe was about to pick it up. Very out of the blue and we just moved on after a little chirping. Later in warmups, an Hernando infielder through the ball past Sowell who was playing 1st. Joe popped out of the dugout, grabbed the ball before Sowell could, and threw the ball to the OF fence. Thought there was about to be a fight but everybody just kept going through warmups. Strangest interaction I ever saw in warmups.
That is only acceptable if they are not counted in the census, it’s 100% validated they can’t vote in federal elections, and they get no federal government assistance.
I thought when people died in movies they really died. I thought it must really be an honor to be on tv to get people to volunteer for it.

Typically SBD response

“frick you. Sad that you have time to follow me around and downvote me. I’ll pray for you.

I am done with you, I am too busy being a husband and father to entertain you.”

10 more replies from SBD then follow in the same thread while simultaneously shite posting in various others

Crazy they gave WV that 1st down. Was obvious he didn’t get there.

Good early year reminder to pucker up
I wasn’t surprised they overturned it, but seemed like it took them 1 look to overturn it. Was not that obvious of a call
It seems like it’s been a month since I’ve seen Duval get a hit. May have been.
I think it’s more of an emotional play than lack of faith in Kelenic or anything else.

This group did it in 2021. Get them back together and hopefully it will create some excitement and they will believe they can do it again.
If Acuna can’t play the outfield next year, we are going to have 3 expensive RH DHs.

I'd be surprised if Trump had more than a couple dozen USSS ground personnel in his detail Saturday, and not all of them would have been on shift. Advance work is done by the field offices for the most part.

A dozen / half dozen will the help of local police should not have been able to stop this guy that was flopping around the most obvious position over the course of multiple minutes with the help of civilians calling their attention to it?

I admit I know next to nothing of SS details, but the level of incompetence necessary to allow this to happen is hard for me to get my mind around which is where a lot of people are.

Quit attributing to insane conspiracy theories what can be attributed to massive and total incompetence.

It could have happened that one of the most well trained, detailed, best equipped, etc. security details in the world failed on a scale that is so incomprehensible (including having civilians call attention to the assassin minutes before and having eyes on the assassin but letting him be) and cannot provide a straight story after that it must have happened! I understand and accept it.
I was hoping for a toolsy SS, but hard to blame the pick.
Haven’t been to watch much this year, but have caught a few innings of Schellenbach’s. Have been pleasantly surprised how in control he is.

I assumed, based on the limited information I knew about him, that he’d pitch more like a reliever than a starter. But he isn’t full effort, changes speeds well, has a # of pitches, and has good control.

He’s enjoyable to watch pitch.
It’s illogical that what he said is true. Otherwise we would have the 35 best players in college baseball signed up for next year rather than losing players to the portal while taking no name players from Illinois St, St. Joseph’s, etc.

I’m sure what he meant was that there was no predetermined / set amount and that if they were approached they could potentially increase the budget to $X, if it made sense.

quote:

He said we have no budget. We tell the grove collective we want this guy for this much and the money is there. We really have no constraints money wise to get whomever we need to get

Lots of heads need to roll if Bianco is leading the program to the seasons we have had recently while operating with no budget.
Can Acuna manage to get picked off again?
I’m sure I’ve seen it, but I don’t remember a runner being picked off twice in one game at any level
