I want to say the browns or jags..but they all have had some success.

So I will go with the texans. Some really bad years, and a few decent years, but havent been forcasted to make a Super Bowl, and certainly havent won one...yet they can be a tough out and cause an upset or two.

Mississippi State is the Tennessee Titans.

We had that one special year that everyone remembers because of the electric dual threat QB. A respected member of the league, but have terrible marketing/branding so casuals really don't know who the frick we are. Little to no bandwagon support, but a diehard regional fanbase.

My initial thought is the Chargers. They usually seem to have the ingredients to be really good but it doesn't come to fruition.

I’ll say Chiefs. Won SB 4 then roamed the desert for decades. Had some decent teams but always came up short. Won a couple recently

From the 90's on its the Cowboys easily. If we are talking All-Time, UT isn't on par with what Dallas is, but really only Bama, ND, Oklahoma, and maybe Michigan or Ohio St really are.

Agree.

I think an all time comparison for Tennessee would be the Washington Redskins. The flaw with that comparison was their big run of recent years was in the 80s rather than the 90s. But they have a solid history overall (like Tennessee) with a pretty dominant decade (though no the most dominant franchise/program of the decade)and then has suffered from bad management from the top down ever since. However, both have recently made changes at the top which might lead to better days ahead.

I also don't think that Dallas fits for the post-90s Vols since Dallas has been mediocre to above average, they haven't had anything resembling the Dooley, Butch, or Pruitt era.

I agree, though from a perception standpoint you would think Dallas has been as bad as Tennessee which is why I used that example.

If you took the logo out of it (and thus people's biases) Dallas has been one of the better, more consistent teams in the NFL. They are in the playoff hunt almost every year despite being in a division that has been pretty tough, usually 1 other really good team if not 2. Now they are also consistently not doing anything more than being in the hunt or making the playoffs and getting bounced early, but they are usually there at least.

For the longest time I compared MU to the STL Football Cardinals. A program trying to take the next step to respectability, but couldn’t get out of its own way. Barbara Uehling the chancellor at the time = Bill Bidwill. Having a couple players who would go on to play for them only enhanced that comparison.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens didn’t amount to much until 2000. Since 2000, they’ve won 2 Super Bowls are are knocking on the door for another this year. The Ravens since 2000 have been quite successful, but not quite as the powerful New England Patriots dynasty.

LSU didn’t amount to much in the 80’s and 90’s and since 2000 have won 3 National Championships. LSU has been very successful since 2000, but not nearly as successful as the Alabama dynasty.

Rebs/Lions.

The Rebs and Lions usually suck, but not this year.

seahawks.

In 2010's, won a SB (natty), lost a SB (natty), mediocre and bad ever since with a couple decent teams.
