Lane at UF (with full administrative support, if that were possible) would be slightly worrisome.

The Lane Kiffin UF Era would make Urban Meyer Era look like Boy Scout training

The current UF roster based on talent alone on both sides of the ball is a better roster than LSU has. LSU wishes they had the defensive players Florida has. Florida has some really nice young players and I'm not even including Lagway.
besides Lagway our recruiting has been dog shite due to our dog shite nil

This staff sucks at everything including recruiting

That's simply not true. You guys have plenty of young talent. But, bad coaching will make even great players look like shite.

Lane isn’t getting hired for multiple reasons. He shouldn’t either.

You need top 5 recruiting classes to win championships. It’s really not complex. There’s about a dozen schools that with the right coach can snag top 5 classes regularly. Florida is one of them. But the coach needs to be able to pull top 5 classes if Florida wants to actually seriously go back to competing for championships. Lane can’t do that, or at least he hasn’t shown he can yet.

No. The best he did was third in the SEC.

What makes you think that the clown show of an athletic department at UF would be able to lure Kiffin?

Lane loves finishing, he has a house & boat in south Florida. I think Florida is the one SEC job he would have serious thoughts about if open.

At this point Freshwater would have to ask himself if Gata is truly a step up? Expectations would be higher at Florida, not sure the admin support would match.

right now florida is so ridiculously far away from national title contention that they shouldn't be worryin about stuff like that. They shoudl be focused on getting out of the cellar and maybe winning more than 6 or 7 games in a season. There are A LOT worse guys florida could get than lane.

Flroida needs to find their version of jim donnan or mark richt; a guy that isn't going to win the natty but is going to at least drag you out of the basement and get you relevant again and then hand the baton over to the next guy that might be able to take the lid off

I don't think pulling Lane from Ole Miss will be as easy as people think. Florida would have to really show they're committed to football. The NIL era is a little different in that a lot of the built-in advantages some schools used to have over other schools like geography providing built-in recruiting ties aren't as important as they were because A. Missing out on a recruit is no longer the end of the world as it's way easier to find a comparable replacement and B. There's a solid chance you'll get a 2nd shot at a lot of recruits with transfers.

I mean, Ole Miss just took a sitting 2nd team all SEC player FROM Florida this offseason in Princely Umanmielen. Not a guy who was kicked off or is looking for playing time, but a sitting starter with all SEC accolades.

Is there really that much difference getting to South Florida a few times a year from Oxford or Gainesville? It’s not like he can run down there on Saturday night after a game or after practice if he’s in Gainesville.
If he had a house in Grayson Beach I could see your argument.

It's more than a days drive from Oxford, but could be done in a day from Gainesville.

I can't believe this would really factor into if someone takes a job or not though.
