I think Sumrall is a better cultural fit.

This phrase is really getting on my fricking nerves... WTF does this even mean??
quote:

Jon Sumrall would be a good fit for Auburn

I get so sick of this "fit" shite... WHO'S GONNA WIN?! That's the fit.
quote:

You complain about fit, then you use Saban as an example, perhaps the most perfect fit in CFB history.

Nick was a fit out of DESPAIR. That man had been in Miami looking like cheeks. NO ONE expected what he did. I don't even think he did.
quote]Brian Kelly at LSU did not “fit”[/quote]
Also was an a-hole that thought he was better than everyone else.

quote:

Bryan Harsin at Auburn did not “fit” and was dead on arrival (I blame the AD for that one)

Also did not work hard.

quote:

Hugh Freeze at Auburn did “fit” with his schmoozing of boosters and good recruiting, but this caused him to hang on too long despite some horrendous on-field coaching.

He was never the choice. Lane was. And he did what Auburn wanted him to do: Bolster the roster.

quote:

Unfortunately “fit” is a real thing that has an impact on a coach’s longevity.

Like Lane Kiffin fit at Ole Miss? Lol The only thing that fits is winning.

Coaching Success Is Hard To Call

I don't know who the next coach will be or they'll be successful.

We keep seeing this "fit" shite, and to be honest that's one of Auburn's biggest detriments. "Fit" should not be in the criteria at all. It's almost cultish.

Nick Saban was in essence a 6-win coach at Michigan St. He was there 5 years and won more than 7 games once. Same at LSU, he won more than 9 games twice. Who knew that he'd be the best EVER. It's because he was at the right place at the right time with resources and people starved to win again, so they gave him EVERYTHING he wanted and needed. On top of that, he worked hard, recruited like a bat outta hell and learned from past failures.

Whoever the next guy is, I just hope he works hard and is given every opportunity to be successful. Because we're at the starved place at this point.

Austin did however hand pick Thorne, so screw him too.

Thorne looks like Johnny Unitas compared to Jackson.

Kind of why I was thinking Glenn Schumann might get some play but I haven’t heard his name at all.

Schumann will get a job somewhere soon.

I guarantee it. With less talent.

I'll be here, taking Jace. The fanbase throwing a bitch fit won't ruin my season.

The team could have won a couple more games. Don't know who to blame. BUT I FOR SURE KNOW THIS: If they fire Hugh, we'll be in this same spot in 3 years.
Auburn fans really are a glut for punishment...
Kelly didn't come to do a rebuild, he said he was coming to win championships because the couldn't at ND. Since he left, ND has been great, LSU has not.

He hasn't been close. Oversold, grossly under-delivered.
Caleb Williams, the No. 119 overall recruit in the the 2026 class, has committed to Auburn, he tells
@Rivals
.

The 6-6 wing chose the Tigers over UCF and USF.

Cool story! Did y'all happen to see Keshawn Murphy? Wondering how he was getting around after that fall.

I actually didn't see Keshawn. I was looking for him, he graduated HS with my daughter. He walked to the back with no help, but he did have a brace on his knee.
And here's Keyshawn, see Jace laughing
For the record, Jace got to meet his GOAT Tahaad

I was there. Cool game, wish they had won. My son had a game last night so I drove down to Bham for it and we went after his game. So I only caught 2nd half. I think this is a game they win when it matters.

Stayed about an hour after so my son could try to meet Tahaad. Hung with Ike from The War Rapport, he's a good friend of mine. Talked with Hoke. Spoke with Coach Pearl both old and new.

Funny story: Son meets Keyshawn Hall, great kid.
KH: "Whats up lil bro!! Whats your name?"
Son: "I'm Jace."
KH: "Nice to meet you, Jace. You play ball too?"
Son: "Yeah, we had a game tonight too."
KH: "Word? Did yall win?"
Son: "Yeah we did..."
KH: "Good, 'cuz we aint win shite.."

Isn't this what you guys said about Alabama when they were winning all those championships?

The 15 year Crossroads deal with the devil is up.

The NCAA had a sub-station set up in Auburn for 3 years...Found nothing.

So your backup QB, what's his name again?
