Some of the rumors include alcoholism, adultery, dereliction of duties, etc. all of which are allegations that have not been made by the university.
I would like them to use the whole “Louisianimal” nametag. I always thought Ricky Collins’ tattoo (which he called himself that) was a cool/unique branding choice
I can remember him scheming during the Tua years, he’s definitely a great OC. He was able to maintain some dynamic offenses at Maryland. However, he wasn’t HC material.
Peter Burns X

Peter Burns had this take, of which I agree, however, wouldn’t this require LSU taking a chance on an “up-and-comer” or mid-tier option?

Either way, if structured like this, I’d be 1,000% behind the new coach whomever it may be…way to bet on yourself!

LSU Press Conference Update?

Posted by BayouBengal21 on 10/28/25 at 2:16 pm
Does anyone know when or if they’ll be a conference regarding the termination of BK, and an introduction for Frank Wilson as interim?

Has things been stymied due to Gov. Landry and the apparent dislike of Scott Woodward?
He is a really underrated coach IMO
Dan Lanning
Mike Tomlin
Nick Saban
Urban Meyer
Jim Harbaugh
Here’s the issue, I don’t dislike BK, AND despite the conversations on this board, believe he can win here.

(To be fair, he’s done what LSU usually does—> 8-4/9-3 seasons. He just hasn’t had the big come together season.)

He’s recruited well, has a fantastic defensive staff, but needs to revamp the offense.

Building around Nuss has proven to fail. (Who would’ve foreseen that he would regress considering last year.)

- The O-Line has issues (which would be expected when replacing basically the entire line.) However, the recruits are there, development is suspect, and bad QB play exasperates the problem.
- WR rotation has been an issue, but who would’ve foreseen that the QB couldn’t throw to them? (Bodies are there through recruitment)
- RB lacks depth and rotation is baffling. (However, Frank is VITAL in recruiting.)
I, as many of you are, disappointed in the rate of success within BK’s tenure. However, I think it’s absolutely untenable to give him $53 million not to coach and still have to assemble a new staff, assistants, and a roster.

However, I think admin will require an offensive staff turnover. (I believe Sloan, Hankton, Davis, and potentially Atkins will all be fired.) —> I would fire Frank Wilson as well. RB rotation has been absolutely atrocious.

Which OCs would you like to see in BR?

My list:
- Andy Kotelnicki (Penn state/prev. Kansas OC)
- Buster Faulkner (Georgia Tech OC)
- Charlie Weis Jr. (Ole Miss OC —> does in fact calls plays; lane interjects)
- Collin Klein (TAMU OC)

Who BK likely hires:
- Tommy Rees (Browns OC)

re: Brian Kelly hate

I disagree with your premise. I don’t believe the fan base “hates” Kelly. I believe many have recognized that he has made mind boggling mistakes during his tenure and does not have the team ready to play/contend for a championship.

Initially, he fired many on the staff (defensive personnel/strength coaches), and was forced to rehire some.

He has struggled in big games: losses to TAMU, blowout loss to Tennessee, Ole Miss and Alabama. Not to mention the apparent inability to prepare the team to dominate in all three phases.

He will never be bad enough to fire, but he has not proven to be able to win either. Eerily similar to James Franklin at Penn State.
Facetious… it just might work!!

Hypo: Kelly jumps to Penn State…

(Likely won’t happen, but miracles happen)
What candidate intrigues you most?

Definitely gets a call:
1. Lane Kiffin (has he been waiting for this job?)
2. Brent Key (personal favorite)
3. Curt Cignetti
4. Jon Sumrall

Retread hires:
1. James Franklin

Pulling a Joe Alleva:
1. Gus Malzahn (personally think the fan base will be divided, but will tentatively accept)

Edit: I personally have no issue with Kelly, just seems like his tenure will compare to James Franklin/Penn State
Bama lost/looked bad against an unranked FSU. They should be no higher than 25, until they prove it in the field.
I'm taking a wait and see attitude.

I expect a vicious pass rush, exotic blitz packages, and stout coverage. However, I want to see how Perkins will ultimately fit in coverage, and I'm hoping D-Line success isn't due to an inept O-Line.

Everything seems in order, but time will tell.

re: Jon Gruden to the SEC?

Gruden to Gainesville after Florida fires Sunbelt Billy.

Prediction: if hired, Florida man will believe they are back…only for Gruden to be fired 4 years later.

P.S. it sucks to be a Florida gator

GEAUX TIGERS
Deion is still the head coach. He didn’t retire, resign, or leave. He only announced that he had cancer, and post surgery, is cancer free. This is disgusting.
There is no fall off, however the finale fell flat for me. Very good series, thinking of rewatching.
Best response!

Here's a question, do we think Woodward can do such with football?

His resume suggests that he only hires those who are a "proven commodity." Only "highly competent" lesser known hires were Steve Sark (Washington), and maybe Chris Peterson (hired at Washington, from Boise [92-12 record]). Some attribute Jay Johnson as well.
