My high school played Dixie followed by the National Anthem at every ballgame until a few years ago. Also flew the Stars and Bars beneath the US flag. Beautiful song. So sad.

What’s your favorite Bourbon for tailgating? Mine is Johnny Drum. Started by a Confederate soldier after the war when he returned to his farm in Bardstiwn and had to do something with his ruined corn crop. Not expensive but smoother than a lot of the pricey brands.

Your observations are probably true. We are at a major disadvantage when it comes to recruiting for a lot of reasons. I will say this though, I believe we punch above our weight class and that gives us hope.

The fan base and the AD expect Kentucky to be good at basketball but the fan base and I suspect the AD desperately want us to be a football school. Most Kentucky fans were upset with Cal’s comments because we want to believe we are becoming relevant in football. I think the AD knew that and probably hoped it was true.

Kentucky is 18-2 including sweeping Miss St. it’s early but we could be a factor this year

After Kentucky I’ll pull for every SEC team even the Vols. We all share a common history and culture looked down on by the rest of the country. SEC dominance is good for us all.
