What'd you imagine Updyke felt like making that call to Finebaum about the trees?

He felt like he was king of the tards and was treated as such by them.

I heard the call live when it happened...

I just remember he seemed to think he was exacting revenge for some prank Auburn fans played on the statue of the Bear or some such.

He really thought poisoning the trees was a fair response to what the Auburn fans did to the statue.

What he seemed to not understand is that they played a prank. They did not destroy property and actually vandalize the statue.

But in his mind... messing with Bear's statue was too over the top.

Here's a scary thought: You know what ol' Harvey did for work before he retired?

He was a Texas state trooper. Yep, Harvey was riding around around with a gun, cuffs, and a nightstick in the days before body and dashboard cameras.

I heard it live too. He seemed a mixture of angry/nervous/unhinged.

He named his daughter "Crimson Tyde" and his son "Bear Bryant".

Dude didn't even attend Bama.

Most cops are meat heads who think they’re smarter than you (they’re not). That’s what he was thinking. He didn’t think he’d get caught.

Taping a #2 jersey on a statue which took all of 5 seconds to take down and leave zero trace it had ever been there.

bama fans are the Islamic terrorists of college sports.

He thought bama fans would admire him and rally around. Surprised they didn't.

He gassed himself up for days leading up to the infamous call. A true Alabama patriot.

Seriously makes me wonder if someone should look into any arrests made on cases he was involved with.
