The SEC kicking out a founding member for breaking exactly zero rules would certainly set a good precedent for the remaining members.

The SEC alleges that LSU leadership has lost meaningful control over Lane Kiffin and the football program as the conference’s legal battle with the university continues.

In an amended federal complaint, the SEC said conference officials were concerned that Kiffin had been working with attorneys representing players challenging NCAA eligibility rules, with involvement from Louisiana state officials.

The filing also argues that LSU President Wade Rousse and athletic director Verge Ausberry have failed to exercise sufficient control over the football program and ensure compliance with SEC rules.

Not sure there's an explicit rule for it but coercing people to sue the organization you're a member of usually doesn't put you on good footing with said organization.

We unapologetically hired Lane Kiffin complicating a playoff run for an SEC member. Some of the institutions are butthurt, some of them are scared, none of them like it.

We also re-hired Will Wade who the old SEC guard absolutely hates.

Period

Again, what has LSU done to circumvent control? They didn’t sue the league nor did they roster the “illegal” players.

There is no basis for lack of institutional control.

Have the schools that have actually rostered and played illegal players also openly challenged the league? This logic would seem to say so.

The rule of voluntary association. Other teams don't want to associate with LSU and are prepared to vote on the matter.

LSU: You are seeking extraordinary relief against us for something we have not done. What are you punishing us for? The players sued the NCAA.A Louisiana judge ruled for them. LSU followed the court process. LSU did not roster them. LSU didn't play them.

Additionally, being provocative, recruiting aggressively and criticizing a conference rule are NOT themselves the same thing as violating a rule. You are threatening to expel LSU from the league for what you think LSU might do .If the rule is about who actually plays, show me LSU's violation. We will wait.

so, its agains the rules to challenge the validity of the rules?

If anyone appeals a suspension they will kick out their university?

NVM all of that would have happened before the SEC made a special rule against this?
