Awwww come on man, why would you bring that up? Even the Bama fans don't believe that anymore.

State has produced Fletcher Cox, Chris Jones, Jeffrey Simmons, Montez Sweat, Preston Smith, Pernell Mcphee among others in the last decade plus. Pretty good list of NFL d linemen for poor ole state

The reality is UGA isn't really focused on one position anymore. UGA currently has the following listed as having been on active rosters last season or drafted in this past draft:

9 OL
8 DL
8 LB
8 DB
6 WR
5 TE
5 RB
3 QB
1 PK
1 P (and holder)

and a long snapper (Nick Moore, with the Ravens).

We pretty much have a complete NFL roster of UGA players right now, fairly evenly spread amonth positions close to what you'd want on a real roster.

I don't think we're the #1 WR school but if Elijah Moore is able to actually play now that he has a real QB, then Ole Miss has to be a top 3 school with Bama and LSU at WR. AJ Brown, DK Metcalf and Evan Engram combined for 253 receptions last year.

What is your football team the 'U' of these days?

Name one Bama WR at the level of Jefferson & Chase.

I think those two may be the best in the league rn. But Cooper, Waddle, Williams, Smith, Ridley, Jeudy, & Metchie (if healthy) form a legit argument.

Nice list. Sorta like ours, in addition to Chase and Jefferson:
Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry, Dwayne Bowe, D.J. Chark, Josh Reed, Eric Martin, Wendell Davis, Carlos Carson, Brandon Lafell, Devery Henderson, Eddie Kennison, Kayshon Boutte, Terrace Marshall, Michael Clayton, Early Doucet, Skyler Green, Reuben Randle, Todd Kinchen, Andy Hamilton, Abram Booty, etc.

I would say the Vols have a claim on that one. Just on the volume of Vols on active rosters the Vols get the nod with 6.

Doak Walker U or Specialist U (Michael Dickson and Justin Tucker)

DBU was a credible argument until Earl Thomas and Kenny Vaccaro left. Texas is nowhere near what it was at those positions 10-15 years ago

Texas = WTFRU

but one day, we will be back

Texas could stake a solid claim to RBU, but Idk if they would be the best.

We were DBU about 10 years ago.. maybe top 5 now.. it’s a pretty good list

QBU in about 5-10 years if Sark sticks around and Lincoln retires

like I said.. WTFRU is our title right now

The UGA NFL depth chart:

QB - Stafford/Fromm/Bennett
RB - Chubb/Swift/Cook/White/Mcintosh
WR - Pickens/Hardman/Conley/Wims/Mckenzie/Jackson
TE - Washington/Woerner/Cager/McKitty/Fitzpatrick
C - Andrews/Hill
OG - Salyer/Cleveland/Shaffer/Wynn
OT - Jones/Thomas/McClendon

DE - Wyatt/Ledbetter/Floyd/Herring
DT - Carter/Davis/Jenkins
OLB - Walker/Carter/Smith(Nolan)/Beal
ILB - Smith (Roquan)/Dean/Walker/Ojoulari/Rice/Tindall
CB - Campbell/Kendrick/Rigon/Stokes
S - Cine/Smith(Chris)/Webb/LeCounte

PK - Blankenship/JPod (Blankenship may be done though)
P - Camarda
SN - Nick Moore
Returns - McKenzie/Hardman

That's a complete depth chart. Probably be an okay football team overall.

Jordan Jefferson is breaking all the “thru 3 years” records.

So if we are counting “probably ins”….

Yeah. Looking at it objectively, we're a little light at the top end at WR (I'd say we have a #1/2 in Pickens and a #3 in Hardman, but we need another front end guy). We probably need another OT and DT for depth. If Ringo and Smith are starter level as DB's we're good there, otherwise the secondary might be a bit weak too.

But overall, pretty close to a working NFL roster that would be able to be a mid tier NFL team.
