North Louisiana and Mississippi had a lot of Cowboys fans from what I have seen prior to Dak. Probably even more so now.

I grew up in GA, so I’m a Braves fan. At State, there were a lot of Braves and a lot of Cardinals. I think it could even be split 50-50

I would say mostly Braves but there is a large contention of Cards fans as well. STL and ATL are both roughly 5hrs from Oxford.

A good mix of both. Northwest is Cards but that has a lot to do with the Redbirds in Memphis. Pearl has the Braves affiliate.

I am a Braves fan but that had less to do with proximity and more that they were on TBS for every game growing up. Same as the Cubs on WGN. I was also a big Seattle fan because of Griffey.

But frick the Cardinals.

Saints historically because they were the closest and Archie. Not sure any injuries have made me as sad as Deuce’s knee injuries. He was well on the way to an incredible career.

Ole Miss fans followed the Giants usually as a secondary fanbase because of Eli and MSU fans are doing the same for the Cowboys now. The Titans are getting a little more popular, especially now that AJ Brown and Jeffrey Simmons are there. I’ve never met a Falcons fan in MS but the state is full of dumbasses so I’m sure they exist.

Saints, no doubt.

The Saints used to have their training camp in Jackson. Plus you have strong connections to the state with Saints legends Archie Manning, Deuce McAllister, etc.

I don’t know anyone in MS that likes the Titans or Falcons.

Obviously you aren't from the area I am. I know several Titans fans.

Myself, I am not a fan of any pro team in any sport but I am more of a fan of the players.

I like to see all Mississippi State guys do well but most any player from my area will get a chance. A few that I rooted for that weren't State guys were McNair (Hence Titans fans), Sweetness, Rice, Deuce, Farve, Wesley Walls, Jackie Slater, Lance Alworth (yes I'm old).

I just love to see guys from my area do well, it gives me a connection. I really don't get the pro team thing that much, it's all about the players. If I lived in a city, I might go to a lot of games and get that connection but I don't.

hat being said, there are random pockets of fans who have secondary teams, such as the Cowboys (Americas team & Dak), Giants (via Eli), and even the Packers (via Favre), but as Eli and Favre don't play anymore, those pockets are dwindling down to the people who cared about those players when they actually played.

There are a good bit of Packers fans on the Coast due to the Favre connection. There are also some Giants fans, but only because of Eli. There are a good bit of 49ers fans because of Rice too.

Born and raised in the Jackson area, I’d say 90% of people I knew were Saints fans, the other 10% were pretty random on who they rooted for. I didn’t know a single Falcons fan growing up, however, I’d say 80%-90% of my friends were Braves fan.

In the Jackson area, at least, it’s Saints and Braves. After Dak went to Dallas, a lot of us state fans began to root for Dallas bc we root for Dak, but when push comes to shove, Saints over the Boys all day.

The Jackson area is a major Saints stronghold, know several long time season ticket holders. When it comes to rooting for an NFL team, Jackson(and the southern half of MS for that matter) might as well be in Louisiana.

A lot of people don't grasp how "close" the entire Gulf Coast is from New Orleans to Pensacola/Destin.

Pensacola to New Orleans is only 3 hours. That's only about 45 minutes further from New Orleans than Lafayette is, and much closer than everything north of Alexandria.

I’m from Columbus and even in that area (NE MS) it was mostly saints fans for NFL and Braves for MLB.

When I lived outside of Jackson I knew several people that had saints season tickets and houses in NO and they went to every game. Big time saints presence in Jackson and south MS

Saints.
I think Titans had a healthy following during the McNair era.
