I’m not agreeing or disagreeing, simply saying given what auburn is going thru, it makes sense where his computer rankings put you

Look at where Torvik has them based on roster alone and the KP ranking is more than fair.

he is a fraud. Here is his final ratings. Look who he has at 27 and look who he has behind them. Hell, he has Michigan at 16.

Because of 1 outlier team?

Big Ten is really juiced up this year and Minnesota lost a lot of close games, I dont think that discredits his whole list.

Auburn will be solid again because Bruce is great and they'll have good freshmen, but they are going to be close to dead last in the country in returning minutes.

Doughty, Okoro, McCormick, Purifoy, Wiley and McLemore played 78% of Auburn's total minutes last year.

State at #12 with what we will return is just stupid.

These things are always going to be a little rough with in influx of great talent coming in

Assuming Reggie leaves, Miss St does have to replace its top two players in terms of possessions used.

Yeah I was surprised. Originally ran the numbers with Perry and State was 6th and he was SEC POY.

Losing Woodard and Perry and not enrolling anyone of significance hammered them. Howland brought them up about 30 spots.

Vol - did you assume Woodard gone?

If he left I could see that.

Yea - if Woodard left you are looking at losing Woodard, Perry and Carter. That's leaving a lot on the shoulders of Weatherspoon and their younger role guys like Molinar and Stewart.

What if Mitchell and Nebo get an additional year of eligibility?

Auburn should be adding Green, still the favorites?

For the time being, yeah, but there's a lot of sound and fury right now, especially with the pandemic.

I'd expect Lewis to stay and Nembhard to leave, fwiw

We should have another very good team on paper this year. Let's see how White fricks it up

no. because with his metric you can win and drop and lose and rise. He is a snake oil salesman. His metric doesn't value wins/losses. It's how much you win or lose by. This is sports we are talking about. Winning is the only goal......not losing by fewer than you should.

even without Jalen....ZERO chance Bruce would have a 9th place team.
...ignoring his first four years at AU?

Your tentative roster for next year is not good. Add Green and we'll talk.

Bruce Pearl is not above having a rebuilding year.

Next year looks like a rebuilding year for Auburn even if you add Green. Just so much production leaving without obvious replacements lined up.

Best rosters on paper to me look like

UK
UF
Arkansas
Tennessee
LSU
South Carolina

and the same thing was said before this season. "You lost your only three players". "Yada, yada, yada".

Tennessee really needs to add somebody like Anosike or Marfo and I think I would feel good about the roster.

As things stand you are probably looking at a 9 man rotation of Vescovi, Keon, Bailey, Springer, JJJ, Pons, Fulky, Walker, Nkamhoua.

Fulky is very good and Pons is productive but they desperately need another big. Marfo is probably the best fit but Anosike would really help on the glass and his sister played for Summitt. Backcourt should be very very good. Is Fulkerson the best big in the league on paper? Watford and Hammonds are the competition I guess unless I’m forgetting someone.

And you guys finished KP #33 and NET #27. You were not world-beaters. The conference was shite.

Plus you're losing way more production this season than you were last season. It was your best three players last year. This year it's your top six. I'm not really buying Flanigan, Cambridge, and your freshman class being a tournament team. Rebuilding years happen.

I don’t think anyone said a team that returned 6 contributing seniors off a Final Four team that was a KP top 15 team all year lost their only 3 players.

The situations aren’t comparable at all.
