What is a projected finished product for this AU roster Bowl? Sounding like a no on Cliff O and Brown, right? Who else is on the board outside of Kuminga and Brown? Cardwell?

You're not responding because you don't have a substantive response.

You won't have a player who was more than a 12-minute-per-game player this year on next year's roster. Cooper and even Green won't save you from an NIT season.

You'll be very good in 2021-22.

Who else do you think they are going to add?

There is no substantive response to your idiocy. You're trying to compare Auburns roster for next year to LSU under Johnny Jones or UGA this year, that's just laughable. Both those terms you referenced how 2-3 solid, talented players other than their lottery pick superstar, but the rest of those rosters were barely even SEC caliber. Auburn will be inexperienced, but we won't have a bad player on the roster.

Not to mention the immense coaching difference. The fact that you're even over here reaching at straws and praying that a team coached by Bruce Pearl in year 7 will perform anything close to a Johnny Jones coached LSU team is just evidence of how much of a hater you are when it comes to AU basketball

You act like you're knowledge about basketball all the time on this board, but your takes are routinely absolute shite, and generally fall under the category of "wishful thinking"

Who knows? There’s plenty of time to add more. Bruce has done it every year.

The roster isn’t complete. How can you have a substantive response one way or the other at this point?

Absolutely not true.

That LSU team also had a Antonio Blakeney, junior Tim Quarterman, senior Keith Hornsby, and senior Josh Gray. That team honestly was loaded.

Georgia this season had Hammonds, Crump, Harris, Camara, and Wheeler. Not as good of a roster as LSU's but they weren't talent-deprived (and to be fair I don't think Auburn will go 6-12 next season).

Teams with extreme turnover are rarely good even if they have elite talent. I know you're new to the whole "being good at college basketball" thing, but even elite coaches are susceptible to the occasional rebuilding year after losing their top six players.

If you want another example, see: Billy Donovan post-B2B or in 2015. Those teams were loaded, too -- Calathes, Parsons, Boynton, Kasey Hill, Devin Robinson... It's just nearly impossible to win with extreme turnover in college basketball. You'll be back in 2022.

Right now going into next season it might be the worst roster in the conference on paper.

I'm giving Pearl the benefit of the doubt that he'll land a big recruit and/or a grad transfer in assuming that you'll be good enough for the NIT.

That’s extreme. Might be least experienced but I highly doubt it’s the worst.

He’ll be an interesting story to follow. I think his decision ultimately comes down to the feedback he gets at the combine. Not listed in most mocks. He’s not a kid that will jump to the nba with just hope and greed driving him. Many around the program have no idea what he’ll do

Which team is currently worse on paper? Georgia? Vandy? A&M?

This

quote:

9. AUBURN (64)
G Sharife Cooper
G Justin Powell
G Devan Cambridge
F Chris Moore
F Jaylin Williams

is a bad team on paper. Bringing in Green and a grad transfer makes it competitive.

You guys can convince yourselves that Pearl is above having a rebuilding season after losing his top six players but NIT is most-realistic scenario if we play a basketball season next year.

I’m not thinking Pearl is above having a rebuilding year, but you’re just throwing 5 random names out there calling it the worst roster in the conference. Those 5 most likely won’t even be the 5 starters from who’s already on the roster. My point was that this is really a worthless argument to have since the rosters aren’t even complete yet.

I mean

Doughty
McCormick
Wiley
Okoro
Purifoy
McLemore

Did not sound like a good team coming into this season. Coming into this season many Auburn fans though this would be a rebuilding year yet we still managed to be a 4/5 seed. Auburn's roster isn't great, but Pearl, in 12 SEC seasons, has missed the tourney 3 times. His first 3 seasons with Auburn after taking over a Barbee mess. I just don't think its a stretch to think that the bona fide 2nd best coach in the league could sneak in the tourney with a bad roster.

Unless you're getting an extra year of eligibility for your seniors, it's a bottom-half roster. Which is my point -- at a certain point of roster flux it's tough to win at this level, no matter how much talent you amass. Roster continuity is the name of the game in college basketball these days.

I didn't think your team was overwhelmingly good this year and you guys definitely over-achieved a bit, but your roster did have five fairly talented upper-classmen and a lotto pick. That's a pretty nice mix.

Pearl is a good coach. Donovan missed the tournament every once in awhile. When your roster turns over that much in one year is when it's likely to happen.
