I know everyone is wrapped up in the Alabama/LSU story from 2011, but also consider that Arkansas only lost two games (to the eventual #1 and #2 teams), beat #11 KSU in their bowl game, and was joined by South Carolina for 11 wins and a top 10 finish. The SEC had 3 of the top 5 (all in the West) and #9 South Carolina and #19 Georgia, all with 10 wins.

Georgia was also the only SEC team to lose to a non-SEC team in the post-season.

Anything pre-transfer portal/NIL, CBS intro music, BCS, and without Aggie checks the boxes for me. I would have picked a year Aubie didn't win the NC, but otherwise, yes.

6 SEC teams would've probably made a 12 team CFP in 2012. The SEC East was awful in 2010.

Yeah, Michigan and Ohio State certainly don’t have anything to do with it.

Disagree. 2010 Top 25 Consisted of: Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Miss St, South Carolina

2012 had 5 in the top ten alone

Wasn’t a fun year for me. That too many men on the field penalty against LSU was the epitome of the era

To me, it was. Good era for sure. Older fellas may recall some good times back when, too.

Excuse you, I believe they were playing “old man football” at this particular point in time.

Yeah 2012 was probably the peak of the SEC despite it being after expansion. 6 teams (counting A&M) that all could beat each other on any given Saturday.
