CFB is going to be just fine....

Coaches can (and have been able to forever) pretty much move with impunity, "regular" students can change schools at the start of any semester, so players should be able to also..

A 16 year old can work a full time job and make $, so should a college student that is a athlete.

If you don't like it maybe you should watch something else on Saturdays...

NIL isn’t the problem. The open transfer has turned it in to a bidding war. Talking to high school coaches, even the small schools don’t recruit high school kids as much as they shop the portal.

NIL is the way.
2 million for a year PLUS has had no agents taking a cut of the earnings unlike the NFL.

Yup, my boy will be a Jr in high school and the reluctance to give a freshman a scholarship, for his position, is growing. SEC schools…I guess they feel it’s better for you to go play somewhere else and compete to get back in the portal. Nutty.

Schools that aren’t serious about NIL are about to become developmental programs for the SEC/B10 and other schools that actually care.

The transfer portal would be fine.
NIL would be fine.

Making toast is fine.
Taking a bath is fine.

Sam Hartman????? He will be a 3rd day NFL pick (if at all). If this is indeed true, he's deciding between getting a payday for a 5th year of college someplace and being on an NFL practice squad.

I'm not sure why that's a bad thing, exactly.

Much as I dislike Saban, he was against immediate transfer and NIL and correctly warned it would ruin things.

I think he's more implying the kneejerk reaction that teams and coaches have had to try and level the playing field vs Alabama. Considering Saban won 5 out of 9 potential titles from 2009 to 2017, it became commonplace for everyone to try and find a new wrinkle or rule as opposed to try and out-recruit him.

NIL wasn't REALLY caused by Nick Saban, but one can see how some thought "Now I don't have to out recruit him, I can just throw money at the kids!" Couple it with the transfer portal and you can see how it was viewed as a quick fix to the "Saban problem".

Damn. Guess this means the top programs will get most of the top players now. This is going to wreck college football.

I watched uga’s first half against Oregon & knew college football season was over on opening weekend. Zero intrigue can’t be great for interest?

Pay attention. I was making a point about who the “little guy” was in this situation, and it wasn’t all players.

It was a shitty point.

Wake Forest needs to help him make this choice and clean out his locker.

He’s playing the bowl game. He’s played 5 seasons at Wake Forest. I guess he gets one more because of Covid? Wake’s fine with him leaving as that was the plan at the beginning of the season. He reminds me of Tajh Boyd. Good college QB but not a Pro QB.

I hope it’s Florida offering the 2 million.
