BLM is the acronym that carries the most weight right now but wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up going to the NAACP or UNCF. Would actually be pretty cool and score a lot of points if it went to HBCUs

I'm curious to see how this plays with the older big money boosters. No that they would speak out against it, but does this shorten his leash if he starts to struggle?

Really hope the money goes to smaller funds to support black communities/businesses instead of going to the actual BLM organization itself, which is a shithole.

Me too. The irony is that money donated to BLM will basically be used to help get more old white democrats elected.

Isn’t it disrespectful to black Americans to be associated with a team that lost at home to Georgia State and BYU?

I’d argue this is a pretty big slap in the face.

They will need them.

It's pandering to a hot social topic.

I don't think it goes any deeper than he's jumping out in front with a response.

Ridiculous pandering.

College sports gives young black men tremendous opportunities in life.

While every other coach in America is currently shooting themselves in the foot, Woke Germy from Sand Mountain, Alabama, has handled this about as well as one could hope.

Several college football coaches have been in the news for negative reasons of late pertaining to the racial issues in our country.

Jeremy Pruitt on the other hand has handled it flawlessly and is leading the change with ACTIONS, and not by statements.

Jeremy Pruitt has..

- shown up unannounced, walked with his players, and spoke at a prostest
- created a committee led by Tee Martin to promote and create change
- UT will wear black jerseys this season to raise money for BLM
- made sure his players are registered to vote

I’ll hand it to Pruitt, whether he believes in this or not he absolutely knows how to appeal to his team and recruits and this is going to pay dividends for him for years to come.

Good looking jerseys, though.

It was probably more collective than just Pruitt. Tennessee is the program that offers like 500 schollys, has played football at a Nascar track, and does other recruiting stuff.

Im not haiting at all because it is a technique and they are being smart about it. This will certainly help them with recruiting and avoid any negativity while others are getting beat up. I just dont like the fact that we are trying to make one race feel better at the moment, when most of this is not benefiting the AA community.

So what happens if UK decides to wear all black, too? I mean, black is not UT’s official color so if they don’t wear orange, why would UK have to wear white?

It was a cheap knock-off then and it still is now.

Sorry, you guys have to be the white supremacist for the game. The race-war game of 2020. No shot they let us lose!

"By rule the visiting team must wear white jerseys. This means white, which does not
include light gray, pale yellow, etc. (Rule 1-4-5-b)."

And if UK just ignores the rule, is the game forfeited? Would that short-circuit this ridiculous charade?
