I mean it is Kentucky football.

fricking up UTK's BLM pandering game would be the most significant accomplishment in UK football history since definitely 1976, and possibly since 1950.

And if UK just ignores the rule, is the game forfeited? Would that short-circuit this ridiculous charade?

Shocking (not shocking) to see a bunch of posters on SECRant.com chastise VOLS for trying to do something to benefit the African American community.

Looked it up. UK can wear all black but would be penalized 15 yards after the opening kick-off of each half. It would be worth it.

4. If on the kickoff at the start of each half the visiting team wears a coloured jersey in violation of the conditions specified in Rule 1-4-5-b-3 (above), it is a foul for unsportsmanlike conduct.

How does BLM benefit the black community more than the UNCF, HBCUs, or NAACP Legal Defense Fund?

Oh yeah, BLM raises "awareness"

So what happens if UK decides to wear all black, too? I mean, black is not UT’s official color so if they don’t wear orange, why would UK have to wear white?

Isn't the game in Knoxville? Under SEC rules home team decides whether it will wear white or dark and then opponent will where opposite. If Tennessee wears either Black or Orange, Kentucky will have to wear white unless Tennessee allows them to deviate.

Even if we had the best team in CFB history, we would have a very tough time beating the Vols anywhere. That’s just how the Universe is set up, apparently. However, if it did somehow happen, the win would definitely move to the top of our list.

Tweet in the op is slightly misleading as to where the money will be donated.

UK players could wear all black. There would be a penalty, though. See my post above.

no,you are incorrect. This is part of a rule for SEC vs SEC games Roy Kramer instituted in October 1999.

Amazing that so many schools now wear black jerseys when it has never been part of your school colors or history.

Tennessee didn't start wearing orange jerseys until 1927. Their primary jerseys were black from 1911 until 1920.

Here is the SEC rule from the Commissioner’s Regulations:

quote:

Uniforms. In accordance with NCAA football rules, the home team shall wear dark jerseys and the visiting team shall wear white jerseys. White jerseys may be worn by the home team when the teams have agreed before the season. (The Athletics Directors have agreed to always grant a home team’s request to wear white jerseys, in which case the visiting team shall wear dark jerseys.)

This does not appear to forbid the wearing of black by UK. It implies that NCAA rules hold sway.

So UTK is going to wear the same color jerseys they wore when the team and school was segregated?
