We only have four iirc with 18 and 38 the only two I believe would be untouchable if the Daniels scenario happened to us

Yeah but for the sake of what I’m aiming for here, assuming all those guys are “too many”, how would you cut the list down and justify just the top few numbers of those guys to permanently retire?

I dont like retired numbers in any sport pro or college. Retire the jersey but who really GAS when a new player wears it?

Auburn has 4. Three Heisman winners and a receiver that was the poster boy for CTE that suffered the last 20 years of his life for all the concussions he got earning that consensus All-American nod in 1971.

Who are the guys at your school? That inarguably should have their number retired? Assume the criteria is a) universally unarguable, and b) someone like Billy Cannon qualifies, and someone like Jayden Daniels doesn’t.
For UGA I’d say only Herschel.
I would have said Stetson—not just because he led the team or back-to-back natties, but also for what he represented as the ultimate “Rudy”-type average Joe, being an incredible walk-on player bordering on mythical and what he epitomized in his loyalty to his school— but he never graduated (!)
