Georgia's super senior total for the 2022 season is up to four. Fifth-year senior outside linebacker Robert Beal announced via Instagram on Tuesday that he is returning for a sixth season with the program. Beal is able to return due to the NCAA's decision in 2020 to not count that year against the eligibility of any player in any sport.
The former four-star prospect was one of several UGA players who were a part of both teams under Kirby Smart to reach the National Championship game. Beal signed with UGA in the 2017 class and redshirted during the first College Football Playoff run. He played a much bigger role in the National Championship run in 2021, leading the team in sacks with 6.5.
He had five of those 6.5 sacks in the final six games of the season, including one sack in each of the Bulldogs' playoff victories.

It was awesome seeing him at the celebration last weekend with this team as well as joining his former teammates when they recognized the '80 title.

Crazy to think he got arrested for his BB gun scene in A Christmas Story

Considering that 6 of those came after Adam Andersons suspension (last 7 games)... pretty solid almost describes the onfield performance.
I dont think any dawg fans expected the sack numbers considering how buried he had been on the depth chart all those years.

Yeah, Beal was an animal after he got some more PT. Hope he can continue to develop and grow this off-season so we can see what he does in a full 12 game schedule.

Shouldn't have had any trouble winning the Natty then, right?

Kind of reminds me of Channing Tindall last season.

In 2022? I don't know...as you can probably tell by now, winning championships are hard even with a great roster of players. After all it took Georgia's best team ever to finally win one and even then they got smacked in their conference championship game
Outlook looks good though!

What was Beal's draft stock looking like? I assume his thought is he can continue his 2nd half success once he came in for Anderson into 2022 and have a better shot at a much higher selection in the 2022 Draft?

I remember my first championship too. And my 2nd, and 3rd, and 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th. It's been quite a ride so far
