“We do home-and-homes with like FSUs and Power 5 leagues,” Stricklin said. “We haven’t done any home-and-homes with non-Power 5 teams. I don’t think we would start that.

“But I’d love to schedule them [the Knights] in a game.”

Good on Strickland.

Even Louisville, before they were P5 had to do 2 for 1s. Western Kentucky didn’t even get a home return (WKU got a neutral site once) from UK and didn’t get one from UofL even this last season. And they got plenty of money for it.

This is UCF trying to swing their nub like they’re a P5 school without putting in the work to get there.

Why is Florida afraid to go to UCF?

Because Florida has nothing to gain and everything to lose playing them. It would also be financially counter-productive. But you knew all that before you posted

Florida Gators should have no problem going to UCF

Why would Florida go to a directional school to play in a 44,000 capacity stadium and make less money?

When LSU blows these guys off the field it will show that Florida has nothing to gain by pistol whipping the blind kid of the state.

Memphis ran for 300 on them before halftime... Gators would maul their asses

LSU would be wise to run the ball 50 times.

Beat down is coming.

These clowns already backed out of scheduled games on us TWICE recently (2007 and 2013).

LINK

Meanwhile, USF has no problem doing a 1/1/1.

Edit: And UCF's AD is the brother of Mike White, our current basketbal HC. Small world.

And that’s why UCF will never be in the final four.

Undefeated means zero if you’re not playing anybody.

i brought up orlando cause that seems to be where they have a game every year. but even then, i dont think its a stretch to assume that there are more gator fans in orlando than UCF fans

I think it’s clear Stricklin is afraid of UCF. And he probably thinks UF is on a higher football tier than Miss. State.

Way more, and most of them barely graduated HS...but they’ll talk crap like they played for the Gators.

If Florida was at least decent the game at UCF would be a neutral site

In Camping World it would probably be 2 to 1 Gator fans

Remember how Boise would play Va Tech in Landover, Ole Miss in Atlanta, and Georgia in Atlanta? They weren't pussies like UCF

UCF should accept 2-1. They are not even with FL, and that is a good deal.

This gives the UCF AD an "out".

He knows good and damn well no P5 legit school is gonna give them a straight up home and home. Most won't give them a home game at all. He can say "hey, I've tried to get P5 teams to play us but they won't. What he means to say is that we want home for homes or we won't play P5.

UCF will never get past being a G5 school unless they take their show on the road and prove themselves. Sorry boys, it's just the way it is. Go on the road, win those game ala FSU in the early 80's and then you start getting the Miss States, Vandy's, TCU's to come play. Win those, get in a conference and you get your home and homes. You aren't gonna get home and homes with Bama, Clemson, hell most of the P5 conferences powers.

Florida was tremendously gracious in offering a 2 for 1. UCF should have signed THAT DAY.
