True but you can’t build quality depth. Sabans style was loading up with top recruits and letting the young ones ride the bench through “the process” sans a few really talented ones. He had seasoned teams full of talented upperclassmen every year that would just power over you with good defense and a strong run game combined with a smart game managing QB. You can only do that by keeping players in the system for a few years.

Now they all want to play instantly so if they don’t win a starting job in year 1 or two they transfer. You lose team cohesion and building quality depth.

Saban will continue to have talented teams but with less depth. He won’t be able to wear lesser talented teams down as much. He will need coordinators that are innovative and able to install the system quickly with transfer players. Gone are the days of building a team. The teams who win will be ones with innovative systems and coaches who can pick the right transfers that fit the current system so it’s a smooth transition. Every year is an unknown because of so many changes. It’s chaos and Saban is a man of order and organization. I’m not sure how he deal with chaos

This is like reading "the greatest threat to the US..." ever changing narrative to suit the trolls.

Hang the banner!

It can go right next to Arkansas 's "9 points away from 10-2" banner

Calm down BITCHES. Coach will figure it out. This NIL has taken a toll on everyone. Both good and Bad. I like many believe it's a coaching issue both coordinators and Head Coach. Saban is the Goat and everyone on this board knows it. With that said Saban uses the rule book as well as anyone. He is 70 however he is a young 70. He has 3 or 4 more yrs. He has earned the right to coach until he decides to retire.

He can't be on top forever. He can't win the race against father time.

But mainly bad for the poors.

Wait til Saban's first 8-4 season. 5 star runningbacks won't stick around for their turn after that

I was thinking Bear did in late 70s but I looked it up and he was 69 when he died. I thought he was around 80. Damn he was a rough looking 69

While this is true from a talent standpoint, these players haven't been in your system. They don't know the players or the plays. I think Saban has proven the "system" or more aptly "the process" concept more than any coach in my lifetime. He's always had 2-3 talented players learning every position so well they can do it in their sleep. They know each others tendencies and their strengths and weaknesses. They just play together as a unit.

You can't learn all that in 6-9 months.

Reading through these bama comments, I really don't think they realize how much tougher a job he's gonna have recruiting after just a little doubt starts to creep in. Again, as others have mentioned, they weren't far from a serious "down year" of 8 or 9 wins. It will absolutely be the end once it happens because his method requires a full stable of 5 star depth at every position which he won't have any longer after that

From my understanding and I could be wrong he was a heavy drinker and smoked. The bear knew when to quit and leave on top. I don't know if Saban understands that.
