I think it is. Mich couldn’t steal a notre dame coach, mich tried to steal les miles once and he said no. Michigan isn’t what it used to be. Osu is hands down the best big ten job followed by psu

Nobody wanted Heupel either. We’ll see how it works out. Tennessee doesn’t have a good recruiting base which hurts them. TN doesn’t produce enough D1 athletes.

Holy shite, that is very ignorant. This is not the 1990s anymore, get up to date on things. Tennessee’s recruiting base is just fine and will only continue to get exponentially better as the entire state continues to boom. Plus we don’t have to eternally play perpetual second fiddle in our own state. Besides, it’s not like state lines mean everything in the end, especially in the NIL era which Tennessee seems to be very committed to being as big a NIL spender as anyone in the country

You literally had a former coach on the radio talking about the challenge of having to travel farther to recruit. This was just last week.

Dude Pruitt can barely speak English, of course his dumbass thought getting on a private jet whenever he wanted was “difficult”. His arse was accustom to sitting back and riding Saban’s coattails in recruiting.

Besides, Tennessee has always successfully pulled recruits from wherever in the country as long as they have a competent head coach. Which we do now. Tennessee sells itself. Our recruiting is going just fine and will only get better under Heupel now that everyone has a sampling of what he can do. Whereas AU recruiting…well…not looking great.

After about #15 you’ve got some interesting questions.....Iowa, Wisconsin, Tennessee, miss state, ole miss, Florida. Texas a and m, Arkansas

Reading the fan sites ole miss and miss state fans are seriously delusional.

You had idiots wanting to fire the Pirate for losing to Alabama on the road and Georgia at home. I wonder what they think would happen if they had a bad coach there ? 3-9 time

In no particukar order, these programs are proven double-digit winners the past 30 years or so, get the best recruits, have superior facilities, pay top-dollar for coaches, and/or get the highest TV ratings:

SEC:
Alabama
LSU
Georgia
Florida

Big 10:
Ohio State
Michigan
Penn State

Big 12:
Oklahoma
Texas

Indep:
Notre Dame

ACC:
Clemson
Florida State

Pac 12:
USC
Oregon

No one else matters.

Our biggest problem are the idiots who are head football coaches they don't have a fricking clue what they're doing. Until we cut those booster morons out of the hiring process we don't deserve to be higher than tier two.

The fact all Texas fans feel this way is possibly one of the biggest reasons why it's not.

As bad a mess as Texas is, Alabama could be exponentially worse when Saban steps down.

I don't say that as a taunt or a troll; the expectations will be absolutely through the ceiling. And the new guy won't command the respect that Saban does. Combine that with the ultra-competitive SEC (and UGA maybe already taking the throne, or at least challenging and stable with Kirby), it could be an epic meltdown.

Yes, very true. One of the things Saban was able to do was get the boosters to stop being stupid.

It happened after Bear also.
