re: Florida fans, explain the UF/FSU/UM dynamic to me..

UF fans will never admit it, but they hate FSU because they won a natty before them despite all their institutional advantages
They often try to deflect and belittle FSU (as is seen in this thread) because they are insecure
Then there’s Miami whom both FSU and UF hate
The Canes are desperately clinging onto the past for dear life, did you know they haven’t earned a conference title since 2003?

The B1G is considered "snobby" due to the large majority of their members being AAU
Message board rumors are that it is still a requirement to join despite Nebraska losing the designation shortly after joining

If it didn’t matter, Clemson and FSU would have been in the either league prior to signing a new deal.
Up until recently, they were thought to be trapped in the ACC until 2036 to due the GOR
Due to their lawsuits which were recently settled, it is highly likely that they now end up in one of the SEC or B1G in the next go around

Arguments about having a presence in a state already or bringing cable boxes are outdated
It’s all about how many views a new brand will bring versus the other big brands in CFB
That means it’s ND, FSU, Clem and then the rest, in that order
ND has no reason to join a conference until they are forced to (when the SEC and B1G break away in the next decade) which leaves FSU and Clem as the top 2

So many on this board cling to the notion of new markets being the key. That’s the 2010’s way of thinking - new markets and new cable boxes is old news.
People are cutting the chord on cable… It’s all about football brands and viewership. Notre dame is number 1 on the table and then after that it’s FSU and Clemson. Look at this graph of them 2 compared to the rest of the ACC:

It’s all about money and football makes the most money

TV markets and new states don’t matter anymore, it’s about football brands so I don’t buy the UNC or UVA hype
Biggest football brands not currently in the P2 are Notre Dame, Clemson, FSU and Miami
Notre Dame has no reason to join a conference with the playoffs expanding and would be a weird fit
Miami would be a weird fit
That leaves Clemson and FSU by process of elimination

They’re not going to FSU anytime soon
Not that they’re any good, but FSU Twitter is still livid over being left out in 2023 so they scared

This is like the 3rd thread about FSU by UF fans this week

Y’all just won a title and you’re on here posting about a non-sec rival? Sounds to me like they’re living rent free

Not a matter of whether it will happen anymore because it will happen again, eventually.
The usual suspects include:
Clemson
FSU
NC State
UNC
UVA
VaTech
Anyone being overlooked? Do Tulane or GaTech ever make it back?

Despite having never won it, FSU deserves at an honorable mention or something
3rd most trips to the College World Series after Texas and Miami (whom they are on track to tie this year)

For a team the SEC doesn’t want, they sure are talked about a lot during media days

Counter point: ESPN did not want to cough up more when OU and UT were brought on because they knew this might be in the pipeline
Why increase twice if you only have to once?

Y'all will believe anything, he said the same thing about OU and UW soon before they went to the B1G
He’s just being used as a mouthpiece so it looks like there isn’t any tampering
Now does the SEC really want FSU? Probably not, but the B1G would be licking their chops to get into the southeast with an actual good brand
They’re not tier 1, but tier 2 still brings plenty of eyeballs

But why? What are the benefits of doing this? UF fans are the only program that I’ve seen talk (complain) about a setup like this
