John Cooper was by far the worst in game coach the Buckeyes have had in a very long time.
And still won over 70% of his games with three Big 10 titles in 13 years. Thats a damn high standard right there. Just couldn't beat Michigan.
Orlando Pace, Eddie George, David Boston, Shawn Springs, and may others on those Cooper teams, but just couldn't stop the likes of Desmond Howard, Charles Woodson, and of course Tim Biakabatuka.

All fair points
To further the point, Minnesota was considered a blue blood up until the 60s with seven claimed NCs, but lost that quickly when Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State really started to dominate the Big 10.

This is a misconception. They were never blue bloods. They didn't keep their success over a 75 year period or thereabouts.
Nebraska will lose their blue blood status soon. Their last conference championship was 27 seasons ago and their last NC game appearance was 25 seasons ago. Heck, Nebraska's last division championship was 14 seasons ago.
That's not sustained success, and it doesn't look like they will be usurping Ohio State in the Big 10 any time soon.

Agree. Kiffen is 50 yrs old and most likely also thinking what is best long term for his family. I see it as splitting hairs in today's "college" football environment on which football program is better - UF, LSU, or OM?
He'll make a ton of money at any of them and maybe win an SEC and NC at either too.
So it may very well come down to which is the better school, city, and state overall to live in the next 10 years or so for his family.
UF is the easy choice here.
Basketball AAU blue chippers start getting paid in the 9th grade. Not joking either.
Why even go to school? Those high school "academies" full of basketball players arent really school anyways.

They need to get rid of this auto-bid shite. It's complete DEI in a game that has zero place for it. Hell, we play sports for sake of meritocracy.
Just wait til that committee forces an auto HBCU bid into the bracket. Not kidding, either.
Yup. Make 7 to 8 figures per for about 8 years, hope to never get in a real game to avoid injuries. Invest wisely, retire at around 32 yo with knees, back, and brain intact. Pretty sweet gig.

Stanford could out-NIL all those programs put togther if they really, really wanted to, but that's not what they are about.

I think a big part of it is the state of Missouri doesn't produce a lot of elite level recruits out of high school. Why that is, I do not know.
There is plenty of talent in the KC and St Loius areas. Problem is that Mizzou cant lock down the KC area and St Louis recruits wanna play in the Big10.

Oh please aggy - the only difference between 8&4 aggy last year and aggy this year right now is a 4th and 11 desperation pass vs Notre Dame.
You still have five more games and can still go 8&4. Talk after beating Texas.

So wait- college teams can freely recruit and pay G League players now?
Why stop at G-Leage players. Start recruiting all those 10-day NBA contractors who'll probably make more with NIL and are better than G-Leagers.
