Very good point, unless you're Kevin Sumlin of course. Then your fans will hate you for going 8-4 every year just to be followed by a moron with a prehistoric offense that goes 5-7 in year 5

Man I would take a lower tiered job and bust my arse to win 8-9 games a year and stay there for 20+ years like Kirk Ferentz or Frank Beamer. Screw those top jobs. Ferentz currently makes 7 million a year.

Florida State is poor basically and UF doesn't have the NIL funds you think they would. This isn't the late 90s anymore.

The glaring difference is the buyout. When you’re stuck with something I believe people have the natural tendency to make the best of it.

Two of those coaches played for the NC. One of them won. Two of them had SEC Championships.
Now let's list the last few Miss State coaches and their accomplishments there...
