Tebow's biggest problem is that he is not that smart and he is surrounded by people who like to make money off him. He is genuinely a good guy who does a ton of great things, but is ripe for these kind of issues popping up.
It sucks because we do have a truly great person who was a Heisman QB that got a ton of accolades for his religion but has not profited from it in the same way with Danny Wuerffel. His work with Desire Street ministries is truly amazing.

Tim Tebow is an excellent human.
He isn't an owner, investor, or officer, and his compensation is strictly tied to speaking and is not tied to course sales.

That's good to hear.
Unbelievable seeing all the posts defending Tebow, as if this guy is unaware of the business model that is putting vulnerable people in debt.
The only way Tebow is not absolutely guilty in this scam is if the statement that he's being paid $2-4 million to give christian speeches is a lie.
I guess someone will come on here saying that the dollars to Tebow fall from the sky after each speech like mana from heaven.

I listened to the podcast with the MJ journalist and I have to admit she came off as pretty fair and reasonable. It wasn't some total hit piece on him. She came from the perspective that most all of us would that a man with Tim Tebow's reputation should be more responsible before he becomes the face of some kind of shady quasi-religious organization. He oughta know there's a long history of charlatans who use religion to bilk people out of money.

I am curious to know though if you can actually be prosecuted for being a speaker for a company who is later found out to be a fraud. I have a feeling there's not really a law against it.
It is despicable though if you find out they are but continue to work with them.

They've got a lot of speakers you've probably heard of . NCAA coaches, ex-NFL and NBA stars, Kayleigh Mcenany etc. I'm not sure how people like that are qualified to talk about finances like they are self made millionares minus the sports or entertainment industry already.
My guess is most of what they are promoting dealing with real estate and investing is something these people could get for free if they searched. I work in an industry where I deal with a lot of religious people, churches, christians, among other walks of life and church people in general are some of the least "common sense" people deal with. If they are spending money they don't have such as taking out loans to learn how to make more money, that's their problem.

I don't think what they're doing is really illegal. They basically create a megachurch enviroment to emotionally manipulate you into buying their investment courses which probably don't work.

When civil lawsuits are filed for, hypothetically, business fraud, the plaintiff attorneys normally go after the monied “deep pockets.” That’s how they can potentially benefit their clients, and get their payout.
