I promise you one thing, a lot of good will come out of this.

Good. About time these kind of groups and the ones who support them or are enriched by them bare brought to justice.

It's a total scam and Tebow should be held accountable. They prey on ignorant, mostly uneducated people by using celebrities and invoking religion.

Tebow is paid $2-4 million to speak at the events and convince people to sign up for the classes, etc.

I don't normally agree with Mother Jones, but I do think it's shitty to get all these people in some kind of megachurch environment only to pressure them to buy investment courses which require you to go into debt and may or may not work.
On the other hand though, there are a ton of celebrities involved with this: Sage Steele, Caleb Downs, Jeremiah Smith, Jerome Bettis, Kirk Herbstreit, Urban Meyer.....
It's disingenuous to just hang all of it on Tim Tebow.

right but I doubt tebow is up there saying "if you enroll in this course, you'll be a real estate mogul and make a fortune!" Granted I have no idea what he's actually saying, but I highly doubt he's up there promising riches to the attendees. Doesn't really seem like his kinda thing.
You can argue the company is making some false claims, which I don't doubt for a second, but it all comes back to personal responsibility. These people sound liek they aren't in the best financial shape to begin with and are having to take out loans jsut to take this course. It woudl take zero effort whatsoever for htem to just say "nah this isn't for me" but they got suckered into it. At some point these people need to learn to quit throwing moeny away on dumbass shite. They probably also have 72 month leases on their car and pay montly on a $2k iphone.

Seems odd to blame Tebow or the other sports people. From what I have ready, they are paid to make a speech or a talk, and that is pretty much the extent.
What will be interesting is to see how they react to this. There is a very good chance they are paid, fly in give a talk and fly out. If the organization is doing something shady that is on the organization.
Kind of like you are a celebrity and make a commercial for a company, then the company gyps somebody out of money. The fact you cut a commercial for them wouldn't necessarily make you a bad guy. It's how you handle it after you find out about the shady business practices.
