They have that 1999 St. Louis Rams/1985 Villanova vibe going on with them.
Indiana just might pull it off.
Indiana just might pull it off.

Cignetti is clearly better than Saban. It isn't even close.
I remember when Urban was better than Saban. Then Dabo was better than Saban. Then Smart was better than Saban. Now Cignetti is better than Saban.

That was wishful thinking/ sour grapes by trolls. I’m no Bama fan but Saban is the GOAT. There’s an argument to be made that he probably wouldn’t have been able to achieve that level of success at other schools

I am not a college football expert by any means. I didn't play in high school. I watch, when I watch, mostly for the strategy part of it. Hell - I can't really say I'm a sports guy when you get right down to it.
Here's what I see with Indiana. Doesn't explain everything - but it explains some. On Defense ? They just shoot gaps. Pure and simple. No reads. No "gap fits". They shoot gaps to get in the backfield and let the chips fall where they may. Its old school. Maybe they "lose" on a few plays. They win on a whole lot more.
On Offense ? Again, counter to modern football theory. They don't seem worried about "chunk plays" and are perfectly fine with five yarding you to death. They also don't look to be "zone blocking" to me. Lots of duo blocks on the line, and if they can't get to the second and third levels they'll just take the five yards and line up and do it again.
I think Cignetti has simplified everything on both sides of the ball. And I expect NOBODY to copy him. Because almost every coach out there is trying to paint a Rembrandt. Cignetti has a room full of Bob Ross's making Thomas Kinkades. And its working and a bunch of kids can fit the system. So no way does any self-respecting smartest college coach ... which is all of them ... emulate that shite.

There will be a feature film if they win it all.
That is what I'm thinking. Hoosiers 2.
Maybe the school can get the movie rights and make NIL money off it.

The other big name programs have had too much turnover to understand the caliber of play they are seeing.
This is well-stated. They have a progression plan for every player and obviously it depends on the kid staying.

Don't forget SMU...I had a buddy go to school there...WOW..he said football players driving up in Corvettes and trans ams getting handed envelopes of money at a party for athletes... at the bar inside of a huge mansion where you keep a little tray for beer nuts was continuously being refilled with 5,10 and twenty dollar bills for other athletes like track or women's sports...wild days in the 70,'s and 80's look up Logan Young prominent Memphis Alabama booster and Albert Means,
