The Big ten commissioner at that time was a disaster. From what I remember he didn’t want to even have a season and three team including Nebraska, OSU and Penn State petitioned to play. I’m not sure there was consistency from any conference then. A real frickup on so many levels

I wouldn’t go that far. If he’s there 4 years with a championship, most fans would be fine with that. Kelly was a carpetbagging useless slug and his bullshite wore thin. His offense was the worst I’ve seen in 30 years. Maybe longer

Lots of wealthy Tulane donors. A lot of this money doesn’t support the athletics but then some on here have enough to support several facets of the university, including sports. They have a couple of whales in the DFW area

Mizzou got some annoying arse fans in here. And they would be a much better fit in the Big Ten. The football program isn’t a complete dumpster fire I’ll give em that. But Eli needs to hire better coordinators if they wanna get over the hump against better teams in conference
