I personally like the AR-MO “rivalry” as much as many do not want to admit it exists.

Lots of AR alums in the St. Louis metro. Makes for fun watch parties.
ATL is a huge Yankee outpost, makes up a huge chunk of GA’s population. Look at how they vote. Nuff said!
Clearly you’ve never been to Missouri. But ok…. And as mentioned, large swaths of the south of filled with NY & CA transplants. Way more than MO. So… no … wrong again
13 years later. Time to move along & accept it. Missouri ain’t going anywhere. Sh-t, MO borders as many SEC states as GA. I could see b-itching if we were Oregon or Rutgers, but come on, it’s not like MO is that far off the footprint. And the “culture “ thing is bogus. GA & FL are full of “Yankees”. That culture is fading fast. It’s 2025 bruh….
Yep, for many reasons including venue location, but not because people in the south hate hockey or wouldn’t enjoy it.
That is an asinine comment considering NHL hockey is played as far south as south Florida, Texas & GA has had a few failed teams (only because ATL is a transplant city & most support other City’s teams). Any City would take an event like this. St. Louis has one D1 team, Lindenwood University. Missouri has no dogs in that fight. It’s 70 degrees here so not so frozen.

Not every year but St. Louis is hosting the Frozen 4 as we speak.

UTrans & it’s not even close.

Arkansas basketball is currently known for its gayness so what’s point?

Self-sustaining is different from what the big 2 sports generate.

As mentioned, it’s going to take a donor to step up. Mizzou got some big donations recently for other secondary sports. Hopefully baseball is next. It’s going to take a new facilities. In other words, a huge donation. I’d bet Veach is working on that. He’s not even a year in.

Like I said, I wish they were good, but I don’t have millions to donate to the program. That would take a donor that cares. Why would I care since they have not been good & traditionally (except since the rebuild began) had the Cardinals to fill my baseball needs.
It is worthless from a revenue generating perspective. I don’t care how many fans show up. Money drives college athletics these days in case you haven’t heard.

And take your DEI shite & shove it. UTrans is as DEI as they come. The blue dot of TX. Mizzou fired all of those loons & let’s be real. Every university is full of the loons, so don’t blame Mizzou.

Good for you. Enjoy.

The fact that pro baseball is embedded in the culture here is no excuse for bad college baseball. It’s just a fact. It’s one of the reasons people aren’t demanding a better product. You’d think it would be better here considering how big baseball is. Unfortunately,it is a stagnant sport. I love it & would love to see Mizzou invest in it, but in reality there’s no money in it. If pro ball wasn’t so big, people would notice how bad Mizzou has been. The average Joe could care less.

What’s your point UTranny?!

Comparing CA to MO. Apples to oranges. Again, who gives a frick about college baseball?! Would I prefer a winner, sure, but in the end it’s kind of a worthless sport on the college sports landscape.

Think about it piggy. MO has one of the most storied MLB franchises in MLB history in the same category as the Yankees, Sox & Dodgers (St. Louis Cardinals). The Royals have won a WS or 2 as well. Just a fact, pro baseball is king. Due to the focus being on MLB in MO, college baseball has always taken a backseat. Ya’ll don’t know much about pros sports down in Arky & swampy.
Why are you on an SEC site. You’ve never answered that.
The Mountain West not have one? Conference USA may be looking to expand. Check it out.
Nothing but a popularity contest amongst a lot of dudes that never do shite in the NFL( for the most part)… must be a slow day for Opoo fans. Then again, every day is a sleeper in Norman.
There’s no telling what the future of the “blue blood” With NIL its all about who is going to buck up. There will always be programs like Ohio State & others that have built a winning tradition, have national fanbases & strong ability to raise NIL money. However, as you see in the NFL, you can buy players, but they have to be the right players, the right chemistry & the right staff. NIL has evened the playing field. If a program is willing to pay, they can win. So everything a program did in the past may not be as big a factor going forward. Not to mention the expanded CFP gives dark horse teams the chance to win a natty. The ‘blue bloods” of the past lost their advantage; the ability & willingness to pay players under the table, knowing the slap on the wrist from the NCAA was the likely consequence. That day in age is over. Will there still be programs that recruit better & have more money, sure, but now the other power 5 schools got a shot.

Pappy’s in St. Louis is the best. So good, sauce is not necessary. Ask Zagat… Pappy’s is untouchable.

Thought so!
