Sucks because I had high hopes

This right here. Much of my optimism for 2025 - and I thought we were a playoff team - was because we had this grizzled QB who was going to close out tight games the way veteran quarterbacks in this league often do. Crazy that the one area of our team that we thought preseason was nothing to worry about, QB play, keeps us up at night.
Thank you, nice recap. I’m super interested to see how they use Noot, I get the feeling that the way he finished last year he will get some weekend innings. I just don’t see him coming back to pitch midweek.

Wrong. I do wonder how much NIL experience will be taken into consideration

Am I correct that Dalton Beck was denied another year? There was never a bad word said about the guy, did he hang up the spikes?
Harvard accepts about 6% per year. If Lindsey Scott is my boy, I’d do anything within the law to get him there.

Thinking we’re too good for whomever is costly. Have an open mind and have a broad interview process that is more inclusive than exclusive.
This is a really good point and good QB play hides so much
Can he bring along his brother Jeff?

Jay really has stuck with him. I myself would like to see an uptick in his defensive consistency
I want to cast a wide net and have a competitive interview process. We may be LSU but we’re not above doing this.
Another thing I liked about Ed O was, according to Shea, they would have staff meetings dedicated to talking about players they recruited who went elsewhere: what did we not see him; what happened for us to not secure his signature; should we have anticipated that he was going to be so good; thank God we passed on a guy who turned out to be lazy or have a problem with drugs; how did we miss that he was such a beloved leader; were there red flags from the family, from his upbringing; did we underestimate or overestimate a high school injury; was he propped up because of another star on his high school team who got the attention of the opponent’s best player; should we have pushed harder; was our timing off; are we thankful we cut bait or should we have battled until the end; etc
I’m in two minds on the guy. Every time I think he’s absolutely awesome he has a wtf Saturday. Serious question do we have enough data in the guy to know yet if he’s elite or is the verdict still out?

This right here. The alternative is a tiny pool of safe vets. The “we-need-a-whale” approach lends itself to a compromised search not a comprehensive one. We should be turning over every rock because we’re LSU. It’s flawed thinking to boast that because we’re LSU we exclude fringe candidates. Getting the best from a multitude of applicants seems better to me than getting the best from the upper crust. The process of making a selection and the selection itself can be tainted if we’re going to be snobs about it.

re: Brent Key. I dont get it.

Since he took over no coach has won more games outright as an underdog. This means something
