Leo Lewis a Mississippi LB who went to State was a good one. Sonny and Shea posted a little before midnight on the night before signing day that there had been a “delivery” to Leo’s home and that he would not be signing with LSU the next day. Cracks me up thinking about mama watching the late night news when the doorbell rings…

why so negative? I guess you are thinking injuries pave the way? Could be that he beats out a guy coming off a injury in Moore, the inconsistent Williams, Paz left, who am I missing? Now if he is given a crack at Sundays, will jay stick with him through the bumps in the road? Jay loves to win, and SEC games are not usually that place for giving more and more rope.

Yes true but, there are excellent pitching coaches in juco too. I agree that the level of competition in the SEC would mightily accelerate development in “LSU’s building”.

Another thing that might move the needle towards LSU is, what if he gets hurt and needs an operation with a long rehab? Navigating that while at a juco seems less than ideal. On the other hand, LSU’s university medical center, and baseball-specific strength & conditioning team, and rehab therapists are up to the task.

I didn’t want to ask elsewhere because too often players get bashed, but LSU put out a graphic with all their draftees minus Grant Fontenot. On another board someone said not recognizing Fontenot was intentional because there had been a falling out. Sheesh, even Justin Loer got a curt courtesy congratulations, and nothing good was ever said about him. Strange to make Fontenot persona no grata, he was a top 300 draft pick after all. No tip of the cap. No nothing. Crickets

Project thanks for reminding me of Oral Roberts. When the field was announced for that college, World Series Jay Johnson in his first interview said something like “I haven’t scouted oral Roberts yet, but they probably have some major leaguers on their team too”. At the time I thought it was just complementary speech, but in reality, it’s turned out to be the case.

Well if the below average transfer is a multi-year guy Jay can stick with him in hopes of improvement, or usher out the below average transfer if he lacks promise. Again what to do? Go shopping for two? Youth movement? Switch a guys position? Not an easy thing to get right
