Baseball vets, has LSU ever been walked off three games in row like what Vandy did to TN?
Posted by BayouPride on 3/30/26 at 4:56 pm
Three walkoff loses in a row and to a team that they have a bit of bad blood with. Has to be super-rare I’d think. Just wondering if you can remember something like this happening to LSU? Hopefully this weekend Tennessee will be damaged goods mentally.

Two walk off defeats in row for Tennessee. In my Nelson voice from the Simpsons “ha ha”

So far. Wishful thinking I admit, but he can still help this team down the line

New JUCO LHP on the radar: Cade Pilgrim, Gaston College. He's a sophomore…might be currently committed to South Carolina.
…and might not be committed to South Carolina after they fired PM last night. Jay strikes me as the guy to give him call over his eggs and bacon this morning.

I’m in the minority but I’m not gonna cry over getting thrown out at second to end the game. Others would say it’s idiotic to force the issue, but let’s go out like a lion not a lamb.

He should have applied to mid-major jobs. The SEC is a frying pan.

You left out the most remarkable part. We lost game one. I read once where game one losers in the four-team regional advance less than twenty percent of the time.

I don’t ever remember him even trying to change positions either. Too bad for us

A few years ago there was an article saying that there were two whistlers. No joke, an apprentice, a just-in-case backup.
Imagine being a Vandy fan having season tickets in front of this guy. Sheesh

Ironically though, LSU losing in the SECCG could've possibly hurt Bama's resume enough to where it actually would've been LSU vs Ok St.
This is true. Of course we didn’t want to lose but bizarrely LSU beating Georgia twice, double hurt LSU. It added losses to the team we beat in UGA. Both of our victories over them were lessened. The number crunchers were saying that we needed a non-Georgia team from the SEC East to play in Atlanta. They changed that rule eventually.

I don’t know anything about Clapinski, but hitting is Jay’s specialty, and he has admitted to missing the developmental part of his job. Maybe juco guys with two years plus of eligibility will be more prevalent?

Off-day non-LSU question: seeing big Yorke and his fast start made me think of Stanford’s Japanese star first baseman who goes 6’1 270 Rintaro Sasaki
LINK
Sasaki hit 140 home runs in his high school career in Japan, so why only seven at Stanford last year? I’m not trying to poke holes, just a really big difference. His home field at Stanford goes 335 ft, 400 ft, 335 ft.
And Project, did you see he was drafted by the NPB while at Stanford? from what I understand this is rare because there are rules requiring Japanese professional teams to draft kids who attend schools within Japan.
