Turned it off after the 7th when he had 110 pitches.

Can not believe they brought him back out there to throw 130 pitches

I can’t imagine how the conversation would go between the GM and the minor league manager if they left a 19-20 year old kid out there to throw 130 pitches in High A or AA if he had a no no in the playoffs.

His dad is Tracy Rocker, Coached at Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia and is now at Tenner as Dline…

Makes .5 mill a year at Tenner.

And his kid goes too...… Vandy.

Smart Family!

Yes, take a 6’5 250 pound MAN out of the game in the 9th after he’s struck out 16, still topping mid-90s with his fastball when he has the chance to pitch a CG no-hitter.

Retard.

He’s 19. 11 pitchers in the big leagues have thrown that many pitches in 8700 games since the start of the 2016 season.

Teams who have hundreds of millions of dollars invested in the health of pitchers don’t think it’s a good idea to allow but I guess a trip to Omaha is more important.

The emotion creates a good story and I understand Rocker comes from a well off family so if he breaks down he’s not going to be on the street but we won’t know if this was a good idea or not for years.

The Braves foolishly chased a no hitter last year against the Dodgers and Sean Newcomb threw 135 pitches and he’s never been the same since.

Many people were calling me soft or a retard in that game thread as well for saying he shouldn’t have been pushed in a meaningless game.

Keep in mind that was in a major league pennant race game. This was obviously a “big game” for the kids but in the grand scheme of things it’s in a game that’s equivalent to a high A game. Absolutely ridiculous to push a 19 year old to 130+ pitches under any circumstance.

LINK

Here is a guide that USA Baseball and Major League Baseball have put out.

A lot of helpful information on the site about how these kids should be protected until they’re in big league organizations.

Most teams who have millions invested in the arms know how to treat them, it’s college and HS coaches that are at times wreckless, although Corbin has had a good rep in the past.

Tracy Rocker was a motherfrickin BEAST at Auburn, 2x All American, 3x All SEC, Outland trophy and Lombardi award winner, CFB HOF.

If my son was offered a baseball scholarship to Vanderbilt, I'd kick his arse if he didn't take it.

130 pitches over 9 innings is less stressful on the arm than 100 pitches in 6. It’s the long innings that are a killer.

I remember Tracy Rocker well. He, as stated, was one bad dude. His brother David wasn’t to shabby himself.

He was awesome, I wanted to dislike him because they let us know 1000 times that his mom was the one that made sure he went to college and then showed her just about every time they said it, but it’s not his or his mommas fault espn tends to overdo things.

Again, he was awesome and quite badass. I also liked him in his short interview after too.

No that's basketball, baseball is like the football rules outside of sophomore eligibility at a certain date.

I thought he might be sophomore eligible but he's not, so he's going to be there for 2 more years unless he wants to go pro, then he'll go to JC.
