I’m embarrassed for y’all. I really am. Jesus jumping Christ you should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Dang. Mississippi State is the Vanderbilt of the West. Although we have a sizable lead over the rest of the conference. Deal with it.

Yeah, the “gold” was some form of piss yellow. I’m cool if we steer clear of that. Would love to see us in some “Vandy” script helmets though.

Not a fan of the chain but I guess the kids like them. I do agree that the Bobby Johnson through James Franklin helmet style is still my favorite.
Franklin brought back the white and black helmets.
I’d love for us to wear these again at some point as part of a throwback theme.

Didn't they wear those a few times during the Cutler era?
Thank goodness they did not. They went gold helmet, gold top, white bottoms a few times but this was the only time I remember an all gold uniform.

was there something that maybe Vandy did that provoked the pitcher to go off?
It is possible but Smith had basically been telling each batter to sit the f down starting around the 5th inning. The catcher was keeping him fired up. I’m sure our guys started mouthing back a bit but Julian was the wrong guy to dog cuss. Probably the nicest and humblest guy on the team.

The all gold uniforms we wore against UT in 2002 have to be the worst. We had about 5 different shades going.

I remember y’all wearing a version of these against Notre Dame in the 90s during a bowl game. Teenage me was in awe and they are still my favorite non-Vanderbilt uniforms of all-time.

Taken directly from TAMU’s financial aid website.
“In fact, last year on average, a student with a family income under $40,000 had an out-of-pocket cost of approximately $8,485, and a student with a family income between $40,000 and $80,000 had an out-of-pocket cost of approximately $10,942.”
GTFO with this “advantage” crap.

Understand what you are saying twk but my point is that without Opportunity VU, the school is at a huge disadvantage. Those who complain about the program appear to be ok with the program being at that disadvantage as opposed to a more level playing field that was created with the implementation of the financial aid program.
Personally, I would LOVE for the sport to be fully funded.

Why are fans of the Mississippi baseball programs so fixated on this? It gets mentioned in passing by others but folks in the Magnolia State are obsessed.
Here’s the thing, 11.7 scholarships divided among 35 athletes at a school that charges $25k a year has an EXTREME advantage over a school with 11.7 scholarships divided among 35 athletes at a school that charges $70k a year. Is that really “fair?”

Literally any other school that wanted to to it could do it. Let me repeat, any other school that wanted to do it could do it.
Like Rice, Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Duke, Northwestern, Ivy League schools. UVA and UNC also have similar set ups. Hell, think of the damage the Service Academies could be doing right now.

No. Read about Opportunity Vanderbilt. Unless you are dirt poor you don’t get a “free ride.” Most still owe the school the equivalent of in-state tuition. Dansby Swanson had to take out loans.

You literally know nothing about which speak. You’re just a jealous fan of the Vols.
