Well Greg Maddux would be because of how critical we are on umps now. He just flat out wouldn't get the calls.

Nope.

Brian Kelly is a better coach than lane kiffin.

Sidewalk still believes this is a possibility.

Maybe. Would also depend on what the criteria are. Are we counting draftees? Starters? A minimum career by years?

Show your work.

Currently there are 40 former D2 players on nfl rosters and 6 D3 so yeah over a 100 in 25 years seems very likely

Maybe, I'd imagine it's easier to find D2 players today though because of the Internet.

I gave him NFL all time greats from the 80s and he still can't grasp the concept.

Hall of Fame....arguably the best WR and RB of all time.

But he'll stick to ignoring the obvious fact that many d2 players ended up on Nfl rosters going back decades.

He is just not very bright nor informed.

You seem to be all over the place, from the 80's to the last 25 years, etc.

I may agree with your argument, you're just very inconsistent with it.

What's wrong with you?

You are the one here talking to talk.

Stating that you are stupid isn't me being angry.

It is just expressing the truth.

Not obvious at all. Games are only 12-15 days a year. A player coached by Nick Saban the other 350 days will come out ahead of someone coached by a lesser staff more often than not.

This is absolutely true and does not include the fact that good coaches aren't going to be around in CFB as long as they were even just 10 years ago because no one other than the Jimbo Fishers and Lane Kiffens of the world will be willing to stroke donors and 20 year old millionaires for more than 5-10 years....no matter how good the money is kissing the arse of donors and players alike is not something that a good football coach is going to be willing to do long.

The entire quality is like watching glorified high school football

Mid to low level HS football is pretty damn pure. Some team running a slot T versus another team running a spread. 1500 packing the stands. Bands playing. Free parking and a $10 ticket sounds pretty nice.

The level of play, execution, open field tackling, professional level of football is closer to high school than pro’s now.

Can’t really see how anyone can argue that

Tackling is HORRENDOUS. It is awful. Getting to the QB is almost as bad...even with marble monument QBs you see edge rushers and linebackers wiff on a QB that would have died 10 years ago from the shot he was about to take. Offensive line play is as bad....the footwork or the best lines in CFB today wouldn't have cut it at middle of the pack Georgia high school program in the 1980s. They make up for it with pure athleticism from superior weight training but the foot work is BAD and it is BAD everywhere. It is going to become PAINFULLY obvious in the NFL in just a few seasons because these 20 year old millionaires aren't going to do the work it takes to transition from a great college player to a servicable NFL player because they are already multi-millionaires. I suspect the NFL is already suffering from it....I don't watch enough NFL to know but it is certainly going to impact the NFL in 2-3 more seasons as the last groups of college players who weren't millionaires as a Junior in college start to retire.

The other thing that is not being discussed is how it is impacting high school football. The portal is leaving little roster space of high school recruits and players playing 5-6 years in college...and it is going to become more common as any restriction on eligibility is eliminated by the courts, is going to make the number of kids offered at all levels of college football smaller.

A lot of players only care about money now

Yup. It’s starting at mega high schools too. Openly transferring for athletics and sitting out your senior year due to bogus injuries. That way you can secure your NIL deal to a P4 school. Open yourself up to free agency every year. Hopefully get to the NFL. The top guys mostly don’t give a shite about winning. It’s the system the admins have created.

No SEC program should take any shite from any other conference. Just look at the schedules for these "top contenders" UCLA, Wake, Miami, ND, Utah, BYU, TT...I wish UGA could play any of their schedules instead of Bama, fla, OM, Mizzou, and SC. I guarantee nobody outside of the SEC would want to trade schedules with any SEC team.

How dare anyone question your claim that hundreds of D2 players have played in the NFL, in various timelines of your choosing?
