How many national title winners have not won their conference lately. It’s not that rare.

I know. I didn’t agree with the logic of putting those teams in either.

The committee certainly doesn’t agree with my logic. They are “4 best teams and let’s ignore the on field results of our choosing” people

Who cares about 2017 or 2018! If the committee leaves Ohio State out because of less games to no fault of their own. Not Ohio State fault the new Big 10 Commissioner is an idiot! Not their fault games were cancelled on them because of Covid or the season started at the end of October. That's say the committee leaves Ohio State out for being 6-0 and Big 10 Champions. Shouldn't Cincinnati or Coastal Carolina both undefeated and played more games get one of the 4 spots! Over any loss teams. Let them prove it on the field. Or is a Cinderella story only for March Madness?! At least the BCS wasn't bias like the playoff committee. IMO, No current AD's of any school should be on the committee. Make it up of people who have No skin in the game! Or at least expand it to 8 team playoff. 5 automatic Power 5 Champions with at least a 9 game win record, undefeated Group 5 champion, and 2 at large bids.

There's always a chance, but if you lose the games you're supposed to win, you won't get that chance.

The ACC’s decision didn’t bother me at all. They have been playing before any of the rest of us. They have a good sample. In their case it made sense to keep them from travel related covid, injury, etc.

The B1G is a different story all together. Eff them.

While I understand your point, you have to admit that the NCAA SHOULD HAVE SET a limit FOR ALL TEAMS/CONFERENCES to ensure fairness.

Ex.: If the ACC/B12/SEC can play 10 games while B1G/PAC12 play 6, then EITHER the ACC/B12/SEC ONLY plays 6 games...OR B1G/PAC12 DOES NOT qualify for the playoffs.

Suppose it turned out that OSU physically only played 1 game & was entered into the playoffs.....you think people wouldn't be furious over that?

The ACC canceling their week and The Big Ten and PAC getting playoff consideration even though they’ve only played 5 is complete bull shite. The committee should factor it in and hold it against these team.

Completely agree. Joel Klatt actually tried defending Ohio State by saying they haven't had the opportunity to gel as a team because of so few games so the committee should allow them in based on what they COULD have become in 10 games. Just no accountability for the Big 10 tripping over themselves.

Agreed. Any team can have a bad game. Some teams may not be deemed as good as others, but present match-up problems with specific opponents.

Lacing them up and playing the games matters. If it doesn't, why play the games at all? Let's just award the trophies after the preseason rankings are released.

These teams and conferences attempting to game the system by not playing and sliding into the playoffs is the most yellow bellied, snowflake, participation trophy era level of BS I have ever observed in organized athletics. Sack-up and play football.

No way should an Ohio State team get in the playoffs with only 1 game played and won. Let's be real, the new Big 10 commissioner did what he did because of politics(election) and he thought every other conference would fall in line. When the other conferences didn't follow, it only hurt the Big 10 and made Kevin Warren look like an arse! If it wasn't for Nebraska and Ohio State asking for a season to play then there wouldn't had been one. If anyone is to blame it's the NCAA for not taking responsibility and decide instead of leaving it to each conference. It's been a crazy year and Im just glad there is football to watch!

Then what's the difference, ags are completing the schedule either.

Coastal Carolina or Cincy deserves a shot.
