The ACC canceling their week and The Big Ten and PAC getting playoff consideration even though they’ve only played 5 is complete bull shite. The committee should factor it in and hold it against these team.

Yup. If the team sees the HC taking it easy, they will too. Poor leadership.

And far beyond that is significant risk of injury in every game you play in much less a team like Ohio St. that has only played 6 games.

Also true. A&M would be a lot better off if we had our #1 & #2 WR this year. It’s part of the game though. And when you don’t play as many it happens less.

You’re just saying this because of the implications for your team.

I said this in another thread, but nothing about this season is “fair” in the traditional sense.

Good teams rise above the confusion and uncertainty. If you wanted in the playoffs, your team should have beaten Bama. It’s as simple as that.

OSU - Bama matchup is more interesting as it hasn’t played out yet. The playoffs and title game are about money above all else - not fairness. None of this is new. Everyone knew this going into the season. Stop being a whiny loser.

Especially since Ohio State has a game like Florida did last night nearly every season.

Pretty hilarious when you think about the fact that Ed Orgeron has a NC, but there’s a good chance that Mullen never will

I think managing the locker room drama and emotions over the course of a season might be just as big a factor as the possibility of injury. Team psyche is difficult to influence over the course of this many games against this level of competition

I don't know how many times I've seen an allegedly invincible Ohio State team lose to Purdue, Iowa or Michigan State (or whomever it was) in the past few years.

Lawrence, Fields, and whatever other Heisman candidates shouldn't even be seriously considered imo. One of Jones, Trask, Najee Harris or Devonta Smith (imo the best offensive player in the nation) should be the winner

I’m sorry you might not be able to backdoor your way into a playoff that you will certainly lose.

If the shoe was on LSU’s foot, all you AM fans would be whining in the other direction.

College football is a commercialized product. They will do what’s best for business, and I’m not convinced that’s putting A&M in. We’ll see, but all this crying about what’s “fair” is what’s truly “ignorant” here - not my awareness of reality. Fairness had never mattered in the history of the CFP, and it never will.

Mullen will never have another pure passer at QB like he had this year.

He blew it.

You aren’t the best team in your conference. I have no issue leaving you out of the playoff.

If it’s been determined in a round robin style tournament that you’re not the best team in your conference, then you should be eliminated from consideration of best team in the nation.
