re: Could an nfl team from the 70's

The 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers had 10 Hall Of Famers on their team alone! 5 on defense and 5 on offence. If they played by 1970's rules than after a few bad hits. College players would quit playing to save themselves from being killed or hurt too bad to play football ever again. Do you think a Jack Lambert , Mean Joe Greene or Jack Tatum would not still tackle a QB that is sliding. Not knowing that you can't hit a QB sliding. Those old NFL players played hurt and were tough. How many old NFL players had brain trauma from playing? If they played by modern rules than college may have a better chance but how many of these old Hall of Famers defensive guys will get frustrated after the 3 or 4th flag on them. And if a ref tried to throw them out on targeting than they most likely would just head butt the ref! Also, even today they don't have targeting in the NFL.
Do you think?

Do you think Cig has this type of wins if he was the Head Coach for Colorado, Wake Forest or Arkansas instead of Indiana? Is he that good of a coach?

I don't see Indiana beating 2019 LSU. That team had every position drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. The may hang around but LSU would out talent them. Remember this Indiana team only beat Ohio State in the BIG Championship by 3 and that was with a young QB Sayin. Burrow with Chase and Justin would crave up this defense.

He's probably having flashbacks of last year when Ohio State was beating them 34 to 8 by halftime. It looks like his team has given up already.
Cig has a College Hall of Fame Dad and was assistant of Saban. He seems to have learn how to be a great coach from his Dad and Saban. His team is very disciplined. He also see great players from smaller schools that a lot of Div 1 coaches over look because they don't have the stars. These players seem to play with heart and something to prove. He has a bunch of super seniors from the portal. Plus Billionaire Cuban helps with NIL. Not every school has all that. Oregon has Billionaire Knight and a lot of talented players but can't get over the hump. If Indiana wins a Natty. Then not only will the last 3 teams be from the BIG . They will be the Tri State region as what Ohio, Indiana, Michigan calls each other since they all are bordered to each other. But most importantly all 3 teams will have had several Senior leadership and starters. That seems to be the key is Senior Starters to win it all. That's what Penn State tried to do before they lost to Oregon and then fell to pieces. They had a bunch of Seniors that came back to try to win it all.

Been watching since I was a young kid. It probably would take death for me to stop. As someone who is older , I realize it will never be like when I was young kid or even like 25 years ago. But as a fan of the sport I will still cheer for my team and watch good games. I'm watching tonight. I use to watch NFL all the time but when the Saints were screwed out of a Super Bowl bid several years ago. It made me realize the NFL has become like the WWE and I only watch the Super Bowl now. So hopefully college doesn't become like the WWE scripted. If so, I guess there is always FCS or smaller colleges to watch and high school.

Guy at work who is a huge Indiana fan is going there and told me that all the Indiana fans in Atlanta will be like the Indiana Regiments with Sherman in Atlanta. He's a Civil War fan too. I'm like dude bad comparison. They playing Oregon . Not Georgia. The guy is weird anyways.

These schools need to go after the school that is tampering. Going after the player isn't going to end well for them . I don't see anything changing with college football and NIL until a player tries to screw over the IRS and not pay the taxes. Only then will Uncle Sam get involved cause everyone knows that Uncle Sam always gets his money! As far as transferring, it's up to NCAA to make changes like 1 free transfer. 2nd transfer player sit a year.
Congrats! If you win it all. Does Lane get a ring?

BIG refs was trying to not let a SEC team celebrate their Bowl win!
I've seen a defender late hit Julian Sayin right in front of BIG ref and no flag was thrown. BIG refs are Bad!!

BIG Ten and they are Bad!! Don't expect a Holding Call because they Never call Holding!
Cig has learned from Saban. His team is disciplined and tough.
The transfer portal has helped him and Billionaire Mark Cuban is helping with NIL. If the transfer portal rules of sitting 1 year still existed than he wouldn't be where he is now but still close. It be hard for him to beat Oregon twice. Lanning will have his team ready. But I can see them winning the Natty.

So how soon does Ole Miss start pulling their starters? I think by half.
Ole Miss could play the rest of the game with their 3rd stringers and still beat Tulane bad! If you have to have a G5 team in then just one team. Hell, I think Duke vs Ole Miss would be a better game. It's a shame 2 teams were left out for these G5 teams that are going to be beat bad!

Big Ten refs don't call holding!
Big Ten refs don't seem to be throwing many flags. Letting them play. Big Ten refs are known for not calling holding. They only called holding 2 times in 2 years against OL that was playing against Ohio St. defense.

With all the heavy rains and flooding in the Northwest. They are now saying the Oregon vs JMU game maybe flooded out. If so, where do they play?
If Alabama loses in a blow out. How much will Notre Dame cry about they should had been in instead of Bama?

JMU beats Oregon with last second field goal. That would be crazy!
