So how soon does Ole Miss start pulling their starters? I think by half.
Ole Miss could play the rest of the game with their 3rd stringers and still beat Tulane bad! If you have to have a G5 team in then just one team. Hell, I think Duke vs Ole Miss would be a better game. It's a shame 2 teams were left out for these G5 teams that are going to be beat bad!

Big Ten refs don't call holding!
Big Ten refs don't seem to be throwing many flags. Letting them play. Big Ten refs are known for not calling holding. They only called holding 2 times in 2 years against OL that was playing against Ohio St. defense.

With all the heavy rains and flooding in the Northwest. They are now saying the Oregon vs JMU game maybe flooded out. If so, where do they play?
If Alabama loses in a blow out. How much will Notre Dame cry about they should had been in instead of Bama?

JMU beats Oregon with last second field goal. That would be crazy!
re: Hard to admit, but the SEC is no longer the big dog in college football!

As someone who lives in the North, I don't agree with the poster. Yes the BIG has won the last 2 Natties. But people are lying to themselves if they don't admit that the SEC is where the most talent comes from. Florida, Georgia, Texas and Louisiana all have some of the best talent in the nation for high school players. And they probably always will. Yes teams like Ohio State recruit great and the portal has helped a lot of teams be better like Indiana. But you also have to realize that teams like Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan State aren't going to get a lot of the best talent from the South because kids in the South don't really want to go to a college where it snows and is cold every winter. Sure you will have some go but the majority that can't get into Bama, Georgia, Florida or LSU will go to Miss State, Kentucky, and Arkansas. It's no different than if the SEC had hockey teams. The best hockey players will still go to Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Boston because that is where they are from. Yes as an Ohio State fan, I would cheer for any SEC team or any team to beat Michigan and I always will! It's how I was raised. Yes growing up my family would cheer for Alabama in games and my grandpa was a big Florida fan. If a team wasn't playing against Ohio State than I always enjoyed a great game matchup and it didn't matter what conference they were from. But Never for Michigan!
Freeman isn't a bad coach. So would anyone on the board be surprised if the Pope Leo said something about ND not getting into the playoffs? He is American.

How many more teams will do this in the future when they are upset that they didn't get in to CFP? Not just because of no Head Coach. This could be the death of bowl games expect for the New Years 6.
re: All this arguing about the CFP is stupid and shows why the committee was a bad idea

They should go with 5 Power Conferences with 12 or 14 teams in each.
1. SEC
2. Big Ten
3. Big 12
4. ACC
5. Pac 10

CFP Changes

If it was up to you to make CFP changes what changes would you do?
I would get rid of Conference Championship games for the P4. Group 6 will still have Conference Championship and best Group 6 team would get in. The top 11 teams would get in plus 1 Group 6 team. I would use SOS and Head to Head match ups for tie breakers.

I wonder if committee was sending ND a message to get in a conference? In Hockey ND is in the BIG. In every other sport ND plays they are in the ACC. So why can't ND be in a conference for Football?
Does the SEC Championship play the 2 best record teams ? Or is it still East vs West? Will they go to 2 best record teams in future?
The ACC really needs to put in the best 2 record teams in the Championship.
BYU Head Coach was campaigning for them to get in playoffs in post game press conference.

It looks like they are ready for the game to be over.
Since Texas Tech won. If Virginia wins. Who gets the last spot in the playoffs? Will Vandy get in? Or will the ACC get 2 teams in with Virginia and Miami? Or would they put Vandy in and Miami and leave Notre Dame out since the lost to Miami?
I don't see Tech beating Texas unless they intercepted Manning like they are BYU QB. BYU QB looks like a Freshman in this game. Too many turnovers ! I don't see them beating Bama or Georgia or Ohio State those teams have too much talented depth. It's obvious the Big 12 and ACC are down this year and championships still run through the SEC and BIG.
I like that 2 point Bowl win and 1 point Bowl participation. That will give 42 teams at least 1 point for the next season. That's 17 teams that are not in the Top 25. The G6 works in March Madness because it's basketball. It doesn't work in football. Once in a while you will have a team like App State beat Michigan in a last second field goal or TD. But how many years has that been. Realistically college football will go like the NFL with 2 leagues SEC and BIG and the ACC, Big 12 and ND will be divided between the 2.
