OSU - Bama matchup is more interesting as it hasn’t played out yet.

Why OSU? Why are people only talking about OSU as a possible 4th team as opposed to aTm.

If you're going to consider Ohio State, you have to consider Southern Cal. They're also undefeated and have played just as many games as Ohio State. The five teams they've played are no worse than the five that Ohio State played.

And Southern Cal didn't duck out of playing their main rival.

The bottom line is that neither have played enough games.

The ACC canceling their week and The Big Ten and PAC getting playoff consideration even though they’ve only played 5 is complete bull shite. The committee should factor it in and hold it against these team.

That game made the ACC look bad for that.

You are absolutely correct, sir. Participation trophies is all it is.

I doubt Clemson/ND/OSU would've lost to this LSU team at home.

And you doubted Florida would last week. Anyone who was sure Lsu would win, would be rich right now.

And before last night, we all doubted Florida would lose to that LSU team. Again, that's why you play the games.

Not really. The past 10 years have made me very pessimistic. And those other teams can run the ball and actually play defense.

You’re just saying this because of the implications for your team.

I have always said that A&M will lose out on the CFP this year for a "name" team barring upsets. However, all we have to do now is hold T10 status for a few years and not regress, and we will become more accepted down the road. And eventually the CFP is going to expand - it's inevitable

But then again, who really thought that LSU could beat Florida last night? I can tell you that not a single LSU fan I speak to thought they could

Alabama was going to end that in the championship anyway but he sealed it against a historically bad LSU

I'm having a hard time accepting this take. Let's say for the sake of discussion, the shoe is not tossed, Trask drives UF for the game winning score, and you guys survive at home.

Would you be OK with the SEC cancelling the SEC Championship Game and anointing Alabama as the CFP representative from the SEC since you guys can't play defense or have a strong running game? There's no real need to play the game, right? Alabama is obviously going to win, so why waste time playing the game?

Since covid is now a permanent feature of our social and political landscape, I see no reason why a team anointed in the preseason by the sports media gods as a "playoff contender" should ever play a full schedule again. Just play your 4 non conference creampuffs and 3 or 4 of your easier conference opponents and skip the rest. If 5 games will get you in, why play more?

It’s how Bama got a couple of titles after earning that ‘bye’ week sitting home....complete bs btw

And as an LSU fan, I can tell you that doesn't make me worried; it's the passing game.

A&M is the only team that beat LSU based on running and defense, and we were hanging in that game.
When we swapped to Johnson over Finley, our offense moved up a notch. I know Aggie will say meaningless, garbage time points, but Jimbo called 2 timeouts to stop that drive.
Had we played Johnson the whole game, I think we might have won a close game against them.

Perhaps. Mond was historically bad, even by Mond standards in that game.

I said this in another thread, but nothing about this season is “fair” in the traditional sense.

Everyone played under the same conditions. That some teams handled the problems better than others is NOT coincidental.

The only thing that's complete BS is when people don't understand that the SECCG is for deciding a conference champion, not for deciding playoff positions(although it can obviously impact that).

If the SEC wants to make the SECCG for determining playoff positions, they need to get rid of divisions which allow teams like Georgia and Florida to coast into the game while there are usually 2 or 3 SEC West teams better and more deserving.

Bama played 12 games in 2011 same as Ok St while LSU played 13. Bama played 12 games in 2017 while UGA played 13. Ohio State played 12 games in 2018 while Bama, Clemson & Oklahoma played 13.

Ohio State is playing SIX games while Bama, ND & Clemson are playing 11 and A&M is playing 10 (or ell, I guess 9 now). You’re talking a month’s worth of football.

Yuge difference.
