The harsh reality has finally set in for alabama

They danced around it for years and refused to believe it, especially this season. A bad first season with 4 losses was dismissed as "oh it's only his first year." Then an awful FSU lost was quickly dismissed for a "real" defining win @ Georgia a few weeks later when they converted almost every third down in a game that was as fluky as they come. UGA shut them out in the second half, dropped a wide open TD, and inexplicably ran a bizarre 4th and 1 play with a scat back that failed to convert. We all know what happened the rest of the season. "Ranked" wins against old SEC East powerhouses Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Tennessee. "This team is the best in the country" they all said to themselves as they thought DeBose was the real deal.
Then Oklahoma, with a real defense, traveled to town and brought the whole charade to an end. The lack of run game and inept offense was exposed dramatically for the first time. The rest of the way other teams took notice and played the same script. Take away the pass game with two high safeties, stop the run easily without brining any extra men, and the offense is totally inept and shut down. Auburn did it (outgained them by 100+ yards), UGA did it, Oklahoma did it again (probably blow them out without Mateer running for the first down, the dropped punt, and pick six miscommunication), and now Indiana has done it too.
The shine is completely off of your football program and the steep decline is now openly announced on air by Herbstreit and Chris Fowler. You're never returning to the old days where you could pay more than everyone else and hoard players on rosters for 4-5 seasons. NIL and the transfer portal ended any possibility of a return to what you grew accustomed to with a football program.
Enjoy your new reality. It's beautiful to see.

I'm sure you're right and Alabama football will never return to prominence. Retard.

Must be pretty bad to have one of your longest losing streaks to Alabama during their decline

This is probably true for everyone in the SEC. Ohio St might be the only blueblood who can realistically win 10+ games every season but that's because they only play 2-3 difficult games per year.
Alabama will rise again. They have every decade since the 60s.
But the fun lies in the in between moments. Their fanbase literally believes they are entitled to and expected to win a championship every single season. They become apoplectic when it becomes apparent that they won't.
The outlandish behaviors exhibited in this state between the years 2000 and 2008 were some of the best entertainment as an SEC football fan. Finebaum made it to ESPN because Alabama fans were so ridiculous on his show during that time that it was impossible not to tune in.

Well, as an Alabama fan, I will admit this season was rough to watch.
However, I can take comfort in the fact that I have never relied on another team's losses to enjoy a season.
If THAT is what it means to be an Auburn fan then I thank all the powers in the universe that I was never afflicted with THAT curse.

it's set in for everyone. you can't stockpile all the talent anymore. no more dynasties. you will be able to compete every now and again.

Tbe reality Alabama fans have come to wasn't a big shock and actually antiicipated.
Reality #1- There was going to be a drop off after Nick. No way it wasn't going to be. Majority of us expected that.
Reality #2- Expectations should be competing for conference titles and NC's, wnning them every three to five years. We played in the conference chapionship game and made it to the second round of the playoffs without having a running game all year.
Reality #3- Two of our four losses were in post season play. Tards trying to equate four losses to four regular season losses are just that, retarded.
Reality #4 DeBoer is more than likely a three to four year stop gap until the next HC. He doesn't have what it takes to win titles. Bama fans dont expect to win one every year but his teams are too inconsistent to ever win one. So, he's our puppy for two more years then he's probably cut loose.
Reality #5 It could be worse. We could be in as bad of shape as Auburn, whose program has been a complete disaster for right at a decade.
Reality #6 We've taken a dip no doubt, but that dip includes winning 11 games and playing in the post season.

Not wasting my time reading that but the reality is Alabama played in the SECCG (got beat bad) and the second round of the CFP (quit, got arse spanked)
The losses at the end were really bad though.

L3U 7-6 (3-5) unranked. lost bowl game.
Bama 11-4 (7-1) ranked. playoff win.
See the difference, Kim?

How many times have you posted about BAMA in the last couple of days, LOL. This is what people call obsession.

This is obsession. I couldn’t tell you what happened in any Auburn game this season minus the Iron Bowl where Auburn lost for the 6th straight time

That team finished 9-3, missed the CCG, and beat a 7-5 Wisconsin Badgers team by 4 points.
Deboer earned 10 regular season wins & a CFP win. Yeah he took some big Ls this postseason but let's not get carried away here

Cope bammer! Your team’s aura is GONE, you got your arse kicked by a bunch of 2/3 star players on national tv. EAT and ENJOY that shite!

Yep. You are 100% right about that. Which is exactly why we'll be back. I don't know when but I know it will happen again.

I'm happy for you (but still not reading more than the couple of sentences of that essay).
I'm certain this is a great day for Auburn football. I noticed their fans are all up early this morning, overloading the local Waffle House. I see them beating their chests for some team in the mid-west, telling everyone (especially the homeless looking for a handout) the world has righted itself.
It's like a bad comedy skit.
